Cancelled my 3-day reservation, the day before, by email, which I didn’t receive until I was already in London. Poor service and no doubt they were reselling the room as London was very busy and all the prices have gone up. Poor service and by the sounds of athe review, a poor hotel too.

We stayed here this weekend 24th to 26th November. Two days prior to our arrival I noticed there were two payments taking from my account I immediately rang the hotel who said they would let the manager know thankfully one was credited back immediately. When we arrived we were given room 402 I was shocked to see how tiny this was, I went straight to reception and explained the tiny 4ft bed was pushed against the wall the girl on reception said some people don't mind that.. it was what is advertised as a delux single she then gave me the key to a new room 404. The manger came out said if he has a bigger room he would upgrade me but he was fully booked 404 was slightly bigger we had the worst 2 nights sleep. It was like sleeping on a board. The towels were hard and off white shower was tiny. There was also a not very nice smell For the price of two nights stay, this is not a 4 star hotel as advertised. We would not be recommding The Rockwell and will never stay here again. …

Some really nice features, but some may pose issues. Nice features: Proximity to a Tube Station with elevator and ramp access--about 6-8 min. walk, depending on route to the Earl's Court tube station --the tube station is in a busy part of London, with enough eateries near by --there were piles of garbage bags on the sidewalk near the tube station --the tube station was less handy than expected because the weekend we were there, the Underground had limited service to Earl's Court and further west A large room with a desk, armchair and end tables, which was a very nice contrast to the room in Glasgow --large TV and a refrigerator The nice storage shelf in the bathroom Very friendly and helpful staff The breakfast buffet was worth the ~15 GBP price/person The AC unit and the smell noted by previous reviewers were not noted by us The less desirable features: The hard mattress made it uncomfortable to sleep on my side --I liked a firm but pillow-soft mattress but it was like sleeping on the carpetted floor The miniscule shower (due to the presence of the shelf in the bathroom) with barely enough room to turn around Given the neighborhood and location and the acceptable price point, I would probably consider other locations, perhaps near St. Pancras?, before re-booking this hotel. …

Very unfortunately there were numerous bugs in the room. I’m not convinced that they were bed bugs (photo attached) but I didn’t want to take the risk so I checked out immediately. The staff at reception were very apologetic but were unable to refund me as the manager had left for the evening. They took my email so that the management could contact me with regard to a refund but I haven’t been refunded or even contacted. Very disappointing as otherwise this seemed to be a very reasonable hotel for the price.

Very well-appointed and comfortable superior single room with snacks, plenty of toiletries and even a bathrobe. Breakfast was nice and although the dining room was quiet the vegetarian club sandwich was a delicious light dinner. Staff were courteous and friendly. Excellent location - just 25 minutes from museums and from Kensington Palace. Ideal for a solo female traveller - I felt really safe!

We enjoyed a pleasant, week's stay at The Rockwell. I chose a garden room which had a 'patio' outside offering a table and chairs for one to sit. The staff were friendly and helpful; allowed us to leave our bags until we were able to check in later in the day. A very spacious room which we appreciated. Lots of water pressure when taking a shower. It's location is very convenient; Earl's Court tube within a five minute walk. A bit further there are many coffee shops, cafe/bakeries, restaurants and pubs. We would return if the opportunity to visit London were possible.

Second visit to this hotel and will definitely be visiting again. Friendly staff, very clean rooms and comfortable bed. Hotel is a 20 min walk to National History Museum, 20 mins to Notting Hill and Chelsea. Close to Earls Court tube.

The Rockwell is nicely situated a 5 min walk from Earls Court Underground station on the Piccadilly line. It looks fantastic from the street view and the lobby is attractive, welcoming and cosy. The staff on the desk were very friendly and even though we were half hour early they let us check into our room as it was ready. We were in room 407 and it was a cosy room that had all the amenities we required for our overnight stay. There was a previous review to say this room was noisy but we did not find this to be the case and both slept very well. The bed was firm and supportive and the bathroom was equipped with all the toiletries and added extras you could want. The hotel was located in a good location to get the tube to Covent Garden for our meal out and a good location from the theatres which was what we had booked overnight for. We slept very well and both enjoyed breakfast the next morning with friendly staff. Thanks Rockwell - I’d stay again when visiting London. …
