I stayed in room 107 for a long weekend recently. This is a small hotel with something like 40 rooms and they pack a lot of value into such a little hotel. Very helpful and pleasant front desk - when I arrived before 7 am they cheerfully offered me a pot of coffee and to relax in the parlor. Wonderful...

It is always nice when someone compliments our breakfast- our products are carefully sourced from Borough Market. As you rightly say we are not a luxury hotel but a small, stylish and well priced hotel in a great location. It is always good to read a review by someone who really gets it! The Rockwell hotel, close to Earls Court or High Street Kensington (my preference) is a small and well kept, and designed, hotel. Great value for money. That's their best asset. You can find hotels with better everything, but then you will have to pay more money. The small room are very small. The beds are ok-ish. The restaurant and bar...

Nothing fancy here but you get what you pay for, the prices are reasonable for London. The hotel staff was very helpful and diligent in their work. The rooms are good with cooling and heater facilities. Unless you have planned a long stay, this will just fit the bill for your needs as a tourist/traveler. -- A drop of ink...

The Rockwell is in a great location close to transport, attractions, restaurants and shops. Our room was spacious and clean. There was plenty of natural light from large windows which did have blockout curtains for a restful night's sleep. Despite being on busy Cromwell Road our room at the rear of the building was very quiet. Earl's Court train station...

The Rockwell is a small, modern hotel (almost no decoration at all) convieniently located just a short walk from Earl's Court tube station. It must have been a very beautiful building once with high ceilings and grand staircases. I booked a single room, which was a bit smallish, but the bed was big and the shower room a third of...

Everything about the hotel was very good, helpful staff, good rooms and air/heating, and location near transit. Excellent value given London prices. It is a basic hotel. But unless you wish to spend a lot of time at the hotel and are therefore seeking more ambience, charm, and style, it is a solid choice for the traveler.

I am giving this hotel five stars, for it has so much to commend it. Some confuse stars with luxury, while to me it is about service, price to value, and ultimately the experience. The Rockwell succeeds on all of those fronts. I had a small single, that was a terrific value. It had every amenity I needed - and...

One of the better boutique hotels I have stayed in. Great value and decent size room (stayed in a superior single) for the price. Bathroom amenities were not bad too as well as the size of the bathroom. Buffet breakfast at 12,50 was not bad and I like the room service. Also if you didnt want a full buffet they...

Very comfortable,, upscale and conveniently located to tube station. Room smallish as in Europe but the bathroom pretty big. The breakfasts were excellent, full, good pastries, sausage and eggs and yougurt and juices. It seemed that all the staff lived to make our lives more comfortable. Such attentive service by the front desk and all else! Alexandra was particualry attentive...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
