The Sumner is a small boutique hotel just on the right side of the Edgware Rd to get into a nicer area and make Marylebone and other central areas walkable for dinner. We booked a standard twin room, which was on the small side (but normal for London) and a reasonable standard, very well cleaned. Overall for what we paid...

A friend and I stayed at the Sumner for a two night trip to London. It is a wonderful local hotel in the Marble Arch area and it quite honestly exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. We arrived very early but they were able to put a room together for us within 10 minutes. We had two twin beds...

Just returned from a weekend at The Sumner, very enjoyable stay, nice room with lovely extras. Lovely breakfast served in the basement, with friendly staff. My only niggle was there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but apart from that, great stay.

We just came back from a 5 day trip to London wth a four night stay at the Sumner Hotel. We booked the hotel directly with them, and the process was very simple. They did not charge my card until we checked out. The Hotel is in a great location by the Marble arch, with easy connections to all attractions...

The hotel is well positioned just a short walk to Hyde Park and Oxford Street. The lounge area is really lovely and the free coffee and snacks is a nice touch. Breakfast was varied and tasty. I really enjoyed my stay here.

I got stuck in one of the basement rooms, which is by the breakfast room. I note this upfront because I think a large part of my problems would not have existed in a higher floor room. The bad: early morning noise from people going to/from breakfast room, noise of people walking above in the lounge area (zero rugs on...

Stunning looking building from the outside - made even better with the Xmas decorations. This cosy hotel is exceptionally welcoming. Staff on reception are friendly - they even allowed us to check in early (11 am - thanks). Room size not overly generous but spotlessly clean and a good range of toiletries in the obviously recently refurbished bathroom. We particularly...

This hotel is located just off Oxford street - I found the location to be great for a short weekend break, within walking distance of shopping and close to the Marble Arch stop for travelling further afield. Room was very clean (a little on the small side) and perfectly adequate for a short stay. Breakfast was also nice in the...

I was put in one of the two basement rooms (which are room 100 and room 200) which are alongside the breakfast room. Being in the basement is a slightly odd idea in a hotel but it was very quiet! The room was a very good size but the bed slightly hard and duvet felt thinly synthetic. The bathroom had...

Everything you need for a nice weekend at London!! Good restaurant near by, Selfridges in Oxford Street, Hyde Park... Breakfast included is very complete, fresh fruit...The room we've stayed was very quiet and warm, we had to turn off AC. People at the reception very helpful...when we come back to London we'll stay here for sure! We felt at home:)

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
