Stayed here for one night. Hotel is short walk from the tube (I came from Tower Hill, take exit for Tower gateway and walk one block parallel to Thames before turning left) look for the Wetherspoons pub on the corner of Prescott St. Check in very efficient. I had a room in the basement …. Initially I wasn’t too keen as had read some negative reviews but it was boiling hot in London and the room was cool. The view from window was not! Good sized room, tiny TV which had iffy signal but comfy bed and efficient shower. Lack of full length mirror or any mirror near wired in hairdryer. Room location on way to restaurant (only breakfast served down there, dinner was in the bar area), meant I was woken by people chatting on their way to breakfast. Breakfast possibly the best PI breakfast I’ve had - staff were quick to top up anything and cooked option looked and tasted fresh. In summary it wasn’t cheap for a PI but then it’s London and well placed for the Tower and the Thames.

We arrived as a chaotic large family group for a wedding nearby. Nothing was too much for the team here as the hotel became our before and after basecamp. Getting housekeeping to free up our rooms early, and generally being pretty chilled, the reception and breakfast team looked after us very well, and along with the quiet, well fitted out and spacious rooms it was all great. Thank you Premier Inn.

We chose this particular Premier Inn as it suited our budget and was perfectly placed for access to DLR Station at Tower Gateway (we were attending a trade fair at the ExCeL.)

While our trip was for business it would have been equally good for holidaying and there were many guests who were clearly staying for this.

Our party had three rooms, the smallest of which had a glimpse of The Gherkin from the window. We overlooked the DLR tracks, but the corner, 5th floor room (524) was sufficiently high so as to not be bothered by noise. Yes, there was a slight rumble as the slow-moving trains arrived and departed but not enough to affect sleep.

The beds were very comfortable and the room was ideal for us. We had breakfast at the hotel. The foods were replenished regularly and there was no queuing. I had the best gluten free bread I have tried at a hotel in my 30 years of being a coeliac! Special thanks to Mary who went to great lengths to ensure no cross-contamination of food and made sure I had plenty of said bread! She also reassured me by showing the ingredients list.

The staff were all very helpful and this made for a very pleasant, stress-free trip.

I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again and plan to in the future, both for business and pleasure.

The only niggle I had (which is a company based one and not specific to the hotel) was that I was unable to cancel/amend an individual room in this group booking as 2 colleagues were unable to attend. Thanks for a great trip!

As a family we have stayed in many Premier Inns because they are great value for money when going away as a family. This hotel met many of the standards of previous Premier Inns we have stayed in. The location is great for visiting London's attractions, especially Tower Bridge and The Tower of London. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We had a room with the DLR running by the window which I though might disturb our sleep, but it wasn't a big issue.
The staff on reception were very friendly and welcoming and very good at their job. If I was rating them I would give them 5 stars, however we did experience some issues that let this hotel down.
The hotel is under staffed, so there was often a wait at reception or the bar when you needed anything. This was also evident in the restaurant. We waited over half an hour for our drinks at breakfast and the service was very slow. When we did get our breakfast many of the items were over or under cooked and not up to the usual Premier Inn standards. Our evening meal was of a similar standard. The food wasn't very hot and not the best quality. When we arrived in the restaurant we were told we hadn't booked even though I'd phoned and booked the day before and this was acknowledged when we checked in.
The bar and restaurant areas of the hotel are small and lack atmosphere. The restaurant is downstairs and therefore has no windows, which made it feel dark and dingy.
Would we stay here again? If other Premier Inns in London have availability, probably not. If we did we would eat and drink elsewhere.

My girlfriend and I stayed on a Saturday night to celebrate her birthday with drinks and food in the city. We arrived early to see if we could leave our case somewhere. The staff in Check-In were so friendly and professional and informed us that actually our room was ready and we could have the room early. The room was clean and as you’d expect for a premier inn however the room was a little disappointing. There were no plug sockets on one side of the bed and generally scarce in the room and the original flex for the kettle had been cut at the tea making area so we had to plug in on the other side of the room. Also the tv was ridiculous tiny and not even widescreen and old. We stayed at another premier in down the road this year and as most do had a decent widescreen tv on the wall. We didn’t stay to watch tv but it’s nice to in the morning and this tv was pretty much unwatchable. I just feel this room (518) really needs some updating as I don’t feel it matches the usual standard.

As I say the staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough for you and should be commended in such a difficult time.

This hotel is fantastic value for money when compared to the prices other chains in the area are charging.

Firstly, the hotel is in a fantastic location with 2 tube stations and the DLR within a 10 minute stroll. The Tower of London is 5 minutes away. There are several pubs/bars in the immediate vicinity and the restaurants of St Katherines Docks are also very close. We therefore didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that.

We have stayed at several Premier Inns around the country and the room we were allocated was bigger than most. It was clean and tidy with a large shower cubicle which we prefer to a bath with shower over. The only issue we found with the room was the TV. It was tiny and the signal was not very good so it kept buffering. I realise it isn’t the biggest priority as we were out most of the day but first thing in the morning and when getting ready to go out in the evening, it would have been nice to have and I would have expected better from Premier Inn.

The staff we came across were very friendly and helpful, Housekeeping was top notch and we never waited longer than a minute for a lift despite being on the top floor.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back overlook the DLR so some noise can be heard.

The staff at reception were very friendly and professional but unfortunately the food was of very poor standard and definitely not worth the prices they charged.

As a vegetarian, I had very limited choice and the salad was full of tomatoes and little else!

A pizza with 3 toppings of mushrooms, jalapeños and rocket, comprised of 10 mushroom pieces and about 5 Jalapeños. There was no flavour and just dough! Worst pizza I have ever had.

The vegan burger was very dry and filled with brown lettuce leaves. There was hardly any sauce in it. The chips with skins looked like crusty pieces of the last crumbs from a batch of chips.

When I mentioned the issue with the pizza, to one of the staff members, he just shrugged it off and said it could have been down to the chef?! and offered no recompense.

I paid way over the top for 3 meals which I did not enjoy due to poor standard of food and could not finish the meals as they were tasteless.

It’s a shame as the room I was given was nice all be it with torn bath towels.

Premier Inn, you need to improve the menu for vegetarians and ensure Chefs are qualified as judging by the food I had, the chef was inexperienced.

We stayed in this premier inn for a week while visiting London, as soon as we arrived we were kindly welcomed by a staff member. When we got to our room we were pleasantly surprised, we stayed in a family room that had 2 single beds and 1 double with a nice sized bathroom, the room came with a kettle, 2 glasses, 2 mugs, coffee sachets and milk. The breakfast was amazing!!! It had a huge variety of options from a fry up buffet to pan o chocolates and croissants, as well as cereal and yoghurts. They provided us with extra towels when we needed them and had great service overall

I would definitely have to recommend this premier inn to anyone visiting london, 10/10!!

This hotel is in a good location, about 8 minutes walk from the nearest tube station (Tower Hill). We had a very large family room which was very spacious, although the bathroom was very small by comparison. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. We booked breakfast for both days which was as expected, although there was no orange juice available. When asked, we were advised the hotel had been very busy the previous days and the delivery had not arrived. This was fine, but when there was still none available the following day, this was not really acceptable. Knowing that many guests were asking for this, at the very least someone could surely have popped to a supermarket to purchase some until the delivery arrived.

We booked this property because we were going to see Abba Voyage and it is in a perfect position for Tower Gateway DLR station.

My friend and I were really happy with the Tower Hill Premier Inn. Every single member of staff we had cause to speak to were friendly and helpful. We had asked for quiet rooms which is a big ask in a city centre hotel. I’m not sure if we just struck lucky but both our rooms 513 and 515 (so 5th floor and that’s the highest floor here) faced an internal “square” which yes, has the big wheelie bins… we stayed from Sunday evening until Tuesday morning and never heard a thing. I had room 515 and I was very, very satisfied. The room cost was brilliant for the Sunday night stay especially.

The room was exceptionally clean and the option of softer pillows suited me very well. The bed was very comfortable and I really did sleep very well. The room had a great shower, with good water pressure and it all was so very clean.

We chose to add “all you can eat” continental breakfast £8.50. It was all we needed but fir bigger appetites the £10.50 all you can eat cooked breakfast option with all the continental options also included couldn’t be beaten. When I’ve stayed in London before and treated myself to a 4 star hotel the breakfast was no better for £25+ The tables were spotlessly clean and easy to keep that way without unnecessary table ornamentation.

The hotel delivered a really good stay for us. As I mentioned we booked because of the DLR link but it is really in such an excellent position for a wander down to the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and an easy walk to Sky Garden.

Just another travel hint. We were travelling home from Euston Station and we managed step free access to the platforms at Tower Hill going round on the Circle Line to Kings Cross St Pancras and a short walk to Euston without having to lift the bags up the inevitable stairs from the platform before you get to the escalators.

Would definitely recommend this hotel and certainly stay again on another London stay.

Many thanks to all the staff who just made it an even better experience.

The reception desk will not ask for confirmation of booking, just your name would suffice. Would suggest however that you can ring the hotel just to confirm your booking
