I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and it is just absolutely lovely, very personal touch to each and every room by the amazing Kit Kemp (who is also doing books on interior design). Very large rooms, high ceilings, huge bathrooms, amazing "mini-bars" ...all you can wish for plus great service. You will be surprised by the...

I stayed three days for business in the area. This was a return visit after a period of ~5 years. The hotel remains quite lovely. I had a "deluxe room", which was very large, with nice views to the road, a sofa, a desk, ample closet space, and a large marble bathroom. The room was quiet and I slept very...

We stayed at Firmdale's Soho Hotel a couple of years ago and decided on the Haymarket Hotel this time around due to its location. Absolutely wonderful hotel with great staff and rooms. We stayed in the deluxe room and it had everything we needed. The bed was huge and there was plenty of space in the room. Large windows that...

Great small hotel from the Firmdale group. I stayed at all of them in London and each have their own personality. This one is very well located for most things you might want to do, and is a charming small hotel.

Just returned from a stay at the Haymarket over the Christmas holidays. I cannot agree more with another reviewer who said that the staff could learn from others in the chain. For a hotel of this age, everything is extremely well maintained. I cannot complain about the location at all. We have been to London several times before and on...

Dear Ms Chun, Thank you for taking the time to write your review and I appreciate the chance we had to correspond directly. The hotel lobby, ground floor and the rooms are very well decorated and furnished. The pool further adds to this ambience. Touches such as walk in wardrobes in some rooms as well and a personal touch, and rooms are very large. The restaurant is OK, nothing special for the price. However, unlike others such as the Soho, the staff lack...

We chose the Haymarket due to its great, central location and proximity to Her Majesty's Theatre, where we had tickets to see Phantom - it's literally just across the street. Also, 3 minutes' walk brings you to Trafalgar Square and the Charing Cross Underground; 5 minutes' walk and you're in Piccadilly Circus or St. James's Park, depending on which direction...

With a wonderful central location, this has to be one of the best places to stay in London. The staff are exceptional, the rooms individual and lovely and the service spot on. If you can afford it, upgrade to a luxury room or junior suite. They are so spacious and very comfortable.

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
