Dont fall for the "breakfast included" It is included, but for 13 pounds a person you get a cold tray to your room and no eggs or bacon, or any warm food. And no one tells you about it until you get to the hotel...

I booked a suite with a queen and a double bed. When I checked in, the clerk informed me I had only booked a room with a queen bed. In order to get another bed, we had to pay $200 for another room. I showed the clerk the confirmation email and she again rudely stated that it did not matter because I booked through Expedia. She would not acknowledge that Expedia does not just make up room listings but rather gets those from the hotel itself. To top it off, the room she insisted I booked didn’t even have a queen sized bed, just a double bed, and the kitchen was a microwave and hot plate in a closet. I understand that mistakes happen, but this clerk was rude and arrogant and continued to blame me for the mistake, even when I showed her proof that I had booked a suite with two beds. I called Expedia and they refunded me the cost of the room but needed a receipt. The next morning the clerk refused to give me a receipt, again stating that I had not booked through them (but had obviously spent the night in their hotel.) I will not use this hotel again. Rudeness is not acceptable in the hospitality industry. Failure to work with me to figure out how to fix a mistake made by them and Expedia is unacceptable.

Wanted to experience the London style of living and so it was. Great staff, comfortable bed and pillows and room size was good. Location was excellent with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Very convenient and safe. Small kitchenette was handy. The only short falls- - room would worked better if the bed position was length wise. There was a very narrow passage to get to the other side or the desk/breakfast table. - could not work the A/C system. The room controller would not work so had to call reception to adjust the temp from their central system. Bit inconvenient. - room allocated was on the fourth floor and the lift went to third floor hence had to lift 2 heavy suit cases up and down a flight of stairs. Not fun. No porter service. - water pressure kept fluctuating in the shower from good to no pressure so again a bit inconvenient. Overall good.

Somehow this hotel didn’t do anything wrong but just left us unimpressed. Perhaps it’s because we had stayed in ten other excellent hotels before coming here. We booked the Executive Deluxe Studio room, which was in the basement and felt new. It was spacious, with a good bed and decent bathroom The room was very hot, and I tried the control on the wall. Unsuccessful, I headed up the reception, to learn that the control was not what it seemed. The heat is centrally controlled, and this time of year it’s On. My only choice with the control was to turn it off. We propped a window open and went out, and luckily the room was fine thereafter. Breakfast is served in the rooms, perhaps because there simply isn’t anywhere to put a breakfast room. We pre-ordered, and apparently could have loaded up if we’d wanted. It was satisfactory, if not impressive, but having to go up to reception to get meh coffee was not good. Again, this is not wrong, but everywhere else we went did it better – and for less money. Luckily, we had the free-breakfast deal offered for mentioning them on Facebook. Felt like a long walk from Lancaster Gate; after several trips it wasn’t so bad, but we have been closer; when we left we took a taxi to Paddington, to avoid the congestion and to end up in the right place Nice street frontage, elegant buildings across from a park Queensway is a few short blocks away, with many shops, Bayswater Tube, and a bus that took us neatly to and from the Royal Albert Hall Staff seemed remote; one was helpful once engaged, but seemed weary. It turned out she was working a shift 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., so no wonder. The new person on duty as we left was he;pful in getting us a cab after the first two companies offered a long wait. There’s a sitting area at reception with comfy sofas, newspapers and a free coffee machine (capsules, not bad but not great, milk and hot water dispensers easy to use once explained, and several kinds of coffee) I don't know if it's fair to compare London to the other places we went, although Paris and Amsterdam should be fair. It may not be possible to get a good location, nice price, and good everything; you might have to settle for two out of three wherever you go.

This hotel is ideally situated for Paddington station, being a 10 minute walk away. It is also walking distance from Royal Albert Hall, Knightsbridge and the Museums. Very quiet and well equipped. We had a spotless room with a small kitchenette with a fridge, hob, microwave and kettle. Staff were exceptionally helpful. One word of caution - stairs! We were on level 3, not for the faint hearted!
