I went here last week with friends for pre-dinner cocktails for my birthday as we are regulars here but noticed the service has gone downhill since our last visit. The drinks were lovely but a lot pricier now and took a long time to come; each round we had to seek out someone to take our order (for the first round, it took about 15 minutes to get someone’s attention). Really disappointing visit; as lovely as the cocktails were (I had the Refresca).
I lost all my old trip advisor reviews (was on an old work email). Though today I thought I should start it up again due to how wonderful George our waiter at breakfast was. He made us feel so welcome and looked after, he was a total delight. Thank you George for fanning me, when I was hot :), thank you for your smile and thank you for making our breakfast wonderful. You are a super star and we'll be back Michelle. X
What’s happened ? This is my go to place to show friends and family how great afternoon tea can be . I have taken friends to this little gem in the heart of Soho many times and never had a bad thing to say about it . Unfortunately that is not the case since my last visit . The price has gone up from £29 to £40. that is quite a bit already , but to top it all I was charged £7.50 extra per person for an extra round of sandwiches !! Very disappointed especially if you get refills of sandwiches in most other places . Needless to say I won’t be back . Shame really because I really like the place . Service , by the way , was fantastic .
I come here several times a year, but the service is getting worse every time. This time asked for an early check-in. Result: the room was ready at 5pm instead of 3 pm. Then the room had not the ordered sofabed, instead just a sofa. told the reception, no it has a sofabed. Ok, show me. Oh it has no sofabed. Hm, but where will the kids sleep? both in one small extrabed with 80cm. They are crazy here! Never brought another one. The concierge did not get a table in any restaurant. If I asked him for something - whatever- called 2 restaurant and then gave up. Luckily somebody of the others came to gave me a tip, which worked. The bathtub made an annoying farting sound when the hot water was turned on. Never repaired. Location good, design good, service bad. Result: overpriced
Visited for a birthday celebration. Unable to book but the staff were extremely accommodating in finding us a table indoors so we could have cocktails. This place certainly has the WOW factor, even presenting the birthday girl with a cake and candle when it was a walk in visit. All in all this was a fabulous place for a drink and judging by my experience I can’t wait to return .
I have been staying at Firmdale hotels for almost 30 years and this is the first time I have to say it is not up to the normal Kit Kemp standards. We were excited about our first trip outside the United States since the beginning of Covid and thought that the Ham Yard hotel was the perfect place to stay. Unfortunately, we were wrong. It was a promising start with us getting early check-in for which we were very grateful. While the room itself was lovely, it lacked in a number of areas. First, the terrace. It was huge but the only furniture on it were two tiny metal chairs and a small table. These were like an afterthought, totally uncomfortable and not conducive to relaxing. For the price we paid we certainly expected more. And the construction outside also made it necessary to keep the doors and curtains closed. Hotels of these level normally advise its guests of such disruptive activities. Then there was the placement of the outlets which were inconvenient to say the least. There was no free bottled water , only one roll of toilet paper and no tissue. Moreover, I was surprised at the lack of knowledge on the part of the hotel employees. For example, when I called to ask what time the breakfast was, the front desk staff did not know and had to yell over to other staff to find out the answer. Whether it's because of covid or brexit, definitely not the experience I am accustomed to from Firmdale.…
We had a great time! Everything was truly amazing, the room, the restaurant, the bar, etc. Ayman Mansour from the restaurant was absolutely incredible! We had nice conversations and got the best service from him.
We dined in the Hamyard hotel. The decor, and waitstaff were excellent. The food was tasty and adequate. The drinks were skimpy and extremely expensive. We enjoyed many other meals in London and this was the first we experienced this.
Just came back from 4 days at Ham Yard and we were very happy with excellent service and quality of the hotel. To find an oasis of calm so close to the noise is amazing and the rooms provided much needed sanctuary from hustle and bustle around us. The amazing art all over the hotel and attention to detail keep you spotting little gems as you move around the building. We will be returning.
Stayed here with my partner for a birthday treat. Most expensive hotel I’ve stayed at and was worth every penny The deluxe room was amazing, spacious, so comfortable and the marble and oak bathroom took my breath away. The bath was so deep and shower huge and everything was absolutely spotlessly clean. Nice touches were the Bose speaker, floor to ceiling blinds and personalised welcome note We had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant. I had the dry aged rib eye and chips and was easily the most tasty steak I’ve ever eaten. My partner had the chicken and this was equally delicious, she loved the smooth mash We had breakfast delivered to the room and again, this was so good! Great coffee and tea, good size portion and lovely scrambled egg. Was brought to us exactly when we wanted it Highlight of the stay was the bowling. There are 4 lanes in the lower basement. It’s an old 1950’s alley with lots of kwirky art. We had an hour for £20 each which we thought was good value and it was a good laugh coupled with ice cold beers from the lane service I really couldn’t fault this place. We weren’t the typical well-heeled customers in this place but we were made to feel equally as special. Will definitely be back for a treat in the future…
