This is a quaint hotel that provides a clean, safe place to stay. The Celtic is located just a short walk from the underground (Russell Square station) making it very convenient. There are also many restaurants, and attractions (e.g. British Museum) nearby. Booking was a bit cumbersome for us, as we were in the States, and payment confirmation could only...

The hotel is around the corner from the tube station. Room 17 is a large double room which fronts the street. It has ensuite bathroom with a remarkably small sink (think airplane lavatory sink) but reasonable shower. Wifi connection is confined to the hallway next to the office, however. I awakened with a low back ache every morning, but my...

Excellent in several categories including superb English breakfast s. Rooms are small, but immaculate. Wi-Fi needs improving. Lovely garden at back..we'll definitely be returning. Staff were all courteous and helpful.

I have stayed at the Celtic on many occasions either with my husband or with fellow choristers, in a variety of rooms. They are unfailingly accommodating, welcoming and helpful The rooms, as others have mentioned, are varied but accommodate a number of different needs and budgets. It is clean, well maintained. The breakfasts are delicious, cooked to order and served...

When I come to London, I’m usually very busy roaming around and I spend the evenings at the theatres or the Opera House, so essentially I just need a bed, a shower and a breakfast. All of this you can have at the Celtic, but here you get everything in a very good quality, too. From the nice and helpful...

My husband and I went on a vacation in london and we stayed in Celtic hotel for almost 1 whole week. This hotel is near to Russell Square station which is really convenient for those who want to explore a lot of places in London. Besides, it is also 5 mins walking distance to St Pankras railway station (which was...

I almost hesitate to put this in TA, because it is such a welcoming and great value place, I don't want it to be overwhelmed and sold out! The owner and the staff absolutely go out of their way to be helpful. When a restaurant we had dined at phoned the hotel (who had set up the booking for us)...

A good choice if you prefer to stay in this area of London. Not all rooms are same quality or with same amenities, but they are priced accordingly. No complaints about cleanliness but some blankets etc show their age. Breakfast surprisingly good.

The location was good, we were able to walk to several major sites and use the tube when needed. Room was quiet, even with our windows facing the street. No A/C, but it got cool enough at night. Lots of choices for breakfast, staff was very polite. Wifi was spotty in the room, but great down in the common areas,...

This was an interesting place, I have no major complaints, but nothing particularly great to say about it either. PROS: The price. Very affordable compared to most other locations in London. Room was small, but sufficient. I had a shower in my room but a shared toilet just up the stairs down the hall, which was not an issue at...

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
