As an American, I found the cozy hotel area to be charming and close to all the attractions of the West End. Victorian on the outside - which makes me think of London - but modern on the inside - which I look for in travel. Front Desk staff was very helpful too. Next time I come back, I'll stay...

We had the room next to reception which we thought might be a problem, however the only noise we heard came from the street. The rooms, although typically small, were extremely clean, modern and certainly comfortable. Small but efficient bathroom and the kitchenette was very handy to have although a few more utensils would be great. Location - EXCELLENT. Two...

PLEASE DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Do not give them any of your money, a con hotel. When we arrived we were rudely asked to pay for our rooms by the receptionist and we split the cost (each couple paid for their own room). One of the rooms that we used which happened to be the room I stayed...

We've stayed in the Hyde Park hotel in October 2010. The hotel itself is quite nice, rooms are small but not shabby, looking as they have recently been refurbished, left overall feeling of freshness and cleanliness. Bayswater as a location is great, easy access to everything and 24hr buses to the area BUT the hotel is much further from the...

After a very long walk from Lancaster Gate tube station we eventually found our hotel...we were greeted (loosely speaking) by a less than enthusiastic receptionist. We knew about the hotel before we arrived so certain things were not a suprise...no restaurant etc...but there were a few things that were less than satisfactory. Faulty aircon..the rooms can get very stuffy (they're not...

This hotel is very reasonable for the money you pay. It's in a quiet area and the staff were very helpful. The very real problem was, as other reviewers have pointed out, ..the bed. This was the most uncomfortable bed in the world, I don't mind a firm bed but this was just awful. Rock hard is not an exaggeration...

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Firstly the room was tiny with an even smaller bathroom (Do not book if you are plus size). They gave me a room directly below the reception area. At 6am, you could hear everyone walking as though they were right next to you. When I asked for a different room due to...

This hotel is in a good location and whilst it has no amenities, the size of the room and the bathroom are adequate. However, there is absolutely no explanation for the bed. Quite literally the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. The floor or a table would been better! As a family with back problems we are used...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
