Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great hotel tucked away from a busy street, and so close to pubs, shops and transport links. We walked from Hammersmith bus station as it was a lovely day and it's just 25 minutes, or you could take the tube either way its very straightforward from Hammersmith. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, we were charged £20 as some kind of deposit but this was returned 2 days after our stay, its shown as pending on your bank, but we were assured it would be refunded and it was. Our room No.1 was lovely, just behind the reception, it was spacious and spotlessly clean, there was no window but to be honest we didn't come to London to look out of a window so it didn't bother us at all. The lovely spacious shower room had a beautiful hot shower with great water pressure, perfect! The twin beds were very, very comfortable, myself and my friend slept very well. For anyone going to the shepherds bush empire, this hotel is perfect. We would recommend and will definitely be back.

Really liked this hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Got to be friends with the bartenders who all went out of their way to meet and greet us. Room was small (typical of European hotels), but we were fine with it. Hotel may be fairly new--looked very nice and well maintained. Hotel is very convenient to a large enclosed mall (about 1/2 block away), and an outdoor bazaar; but the only reason I can't give 5 stars is location (and I realize not much hotel can do about that). Neighborhood is fine, but quite far from center of city and tourist attractions. We rode on the Big Bus (quite convenient to use), but had to catch a taxi to get to a Big Bus stop. On a prior stay in London, my hotel was a couple blocks from Buckingham Palace--this hotel is probably 5 miles away. If you're ok with location, then I highly recommend.

Stayed with small children and were accommodated with no issues. Staff were always friendly, helpful and engaging. Rooms comfortable, quiet, clean and well maintained. Location is perfect, next to the tube station, bus stops and restaurants. Directly opposite the markets and a short, easy walk to the Westfield (if that's your thing). Was a lovely stay and would highly recommend!

Positives: Great shower. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Located next to tube station. Negatives: No separate room to store luggage securely (bags left in the bar area). Reception staff weren’t friendly or particularly helpful. Bathroom in king room was very small. Drain smell from shower. Poor soundproofing as we were woke up by the guests staying in the next room. Wouldn’t stay in the Shepherds Bush area again as it was mainly takeaways, nail salons and betting shops.

This hotel was in an excellent location, barely two steps from the entrance to the tube station. Compared to other hotels I have stayed in during a trip to London, it certainly wasn't the noisiest either! The staff here were excellent. The right amount of chatty, always helpful and pleasant. Although this time last year I would have grumbled at the prices of snacks available at reception, they were pretty much on par with WHSmith which was convenient. A bonus would have been to have had complimentary water in my room, though. The room was pretty basic and small. It was cleaned to a reasonable standard too - strange black hairs all over the place? Toilet seats needing revamped, I would say. The decor is about 10 years out of date, sadly. The wet walls seemed to be the only modern touch to the room but for the price I paid, I was happy with clean linen, decent sized wardrobe, hairdryer, ironing set, towels and no dust anywhere. Did the job, would recommend if on a budget.

Our family choose this hotel for its excellent value for a three-bed room/suite, and it affordably met our needs for three nights in London. The reception area, like the hotel itself, is very small, though the receptionists were routinely friendly. After taking the stairs to our room on the basement level (elevator primarily for luggage), we found our room to be spacious for the cost but lacking in meaningful daylight (an offset skylight) and damp from an apparent leak and minimum ventilation. Shepherd's Bush is more of a residential/commercial neighborhood--not overrun with tourists as Central London tends to be--which we appreciated for a more authentic feel. Public transport to Central London sites took about 30 minutes. I enjoyed the open market across the street, especially the coffee stand, and my teenage daughter loved the proximity to the Westfield London mall.

If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to stay while exploring central and west London, the Hotel Shepherds Bush is a good choice. Amenities are limited: our en suite room had a small fridge, a safe, and the standard tea service, and there's a tiny bar tucked into a corner of the lobby from which you can get a few drinks. But the location, just steps away from the Shepherds Bush tube station, puts you within easy striking distance of most of London. Our room was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet considering how close we were to the tube station. Shepherd's Bush itself is an interesting neighborhood, with a cool open-air market right across the street from the hotel and lots of reasonably priced casual eateries nearby along Uxbridge Road. For something a little more upscale, the suburban Westfield shopping center five minutes' walk away offers a number of mid-priced restaurants. The London native who was working the front desk during most of our stay was friendly and helpful and gave us some helpful sightseeing tips. Will definitely consider staying there again during our next visit. Visitors should note, though, that there appeared to be no ground-floor rooms, and there is no elevator; worth considering if you are bringing a lot of heavy luggage.
