Park Villa is currently rated the best hostel in London on HostelWorld! We are a new boutique hostel in the heart of the old East End of London less than a 5 minute walk from Mile End station. The hostel is a Georgian Regency villa with 8 rooms ranging from shared dormitories to private rooms with en suite and shared shower and bath facilities. We provide excellent Wi-Fi, very comfortable beds with luxury 200-thread count cotton linen, great showers, obsessively helpful receptionists and a very relaxed, chilled-out social vibe. We are not really a 'party' hostel. We find that the type of guest we attract tends to be respectful of other guests, interesting, worldy and well-travelled. We're sure that includes you and we hope to welcome you to Park Villa someday!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My friend and I stayed for one night on the 21st of December 2024 as we were going to see Sigourney Weaver as Prospero in The Tempest at Theatre Royal on Drury Lane
When I booked in August, the only available room was a mixed dorm.
On the way down, I emailed to confirm that on-site parking was available. It was. For me personally, this is a valuable asset, especially in London.
They also sent an email for me to check in online. Which reduced check-in time exponentially. I really liked this option.
Upon arrival, we were asked if we'd like to move to a female only dorm, which we did.
Parking charges were £10. We were even permitted to leave the car on-site until 14:21 without incurring additional charge despite checkout time being 10am.
Breakfast was an additional £5, and gluten-free options were limited, but I was grateful to be able to make banana and chocolate spread pancakes. I felt totally comfortable doing so as the kitchen area was clean.
The room itself was also very clean, with an en-suite shower room. The bunk beds were very comfortable. A nice touch was the privacy curtains that helped block out additional stimuus and a night light lamp that was adjustable if you wished to read in bed. Additionally, there were two lockers. One beneath your bed and one in your sleeping area. Both were lockable. We were given a free padlock and card key.

Both my friend and I feel that this hosel is one of the very best. The staff couldn't do more to help us. We will definitely be staying again.

Almost forgot... Mile End tube tube station is a five minute walk, making access to central London an absolute breeze!

Stayed over two nights alone for a concert at The O2 arena in a 6 bed female dorm with a private bathroom and it was a great experience due to the staff there and the use of some facilities. Do wish the shower heads in the showers were removable ones so we don’t have to struggle as much under the small ones there, but having a private bathroom is a godsend especially those experiencing hostels for the 1st or 2nd time, especially if it’s the first time alone at a hostel. The staff helped me to print something with their fax/print facility and even helped me to charge my smartphone in case of emergency. They let you add any special requests and even ask to designate a top or bottom bed if it has to be a specific one. Don’t like how you can’t get at least 1 individual based towel for free and have to pay to wash clothes but drying is free. You get the feeling of family even just a little just even by going to one shared room at least such as the kitchen space. Hope to stay here again and bring a friend or family member in the future. Next time, I would like to get advise on my Korean as well and hand out with more people.

I am 72 and have been staying at backpackers since I was 17. I feel well qualified to say honestly that this is one of the best backpackers I have stayed at. It ticks all the boxes for friendly staff and guests, cleanliness and location right by nice canal side walks, a big park (Victoria) and excellent transport links. The price is reasonable and there is attention to detail throughout the property.

This hostel felt and seemed like a boarding house. Long term stayers who had the room set up as their personal bedrooms which was not comfortable. Felt like a transient population, sketchy vibe. Bed was clean, fresh linens. Charged $2 for a towel for a shared bathroom that was not clean.

Pros: Free Netflix, Onsite Laundry

Cons:
Customer Service: The people at the front desk seemed really uninterested in who comes and goes. They don’t greet you and it feels like they’re just here to get paid and pass the time. They seem sometimes rude in how they treat their guests.

Kitchen: Very small, with a bad odor and doesn’t have all the items that I’d need for a proper stay. It’s an enclosed kitchen so there is no window, hence no outside ventilation

Dorm: The people in an extended stay arrangement pretty much take up half the room, have entirely too much stuff and seemingly monopolize the space with their belongings. Privacy curtains are too small.

Atmosphere: It’s a bit clicky with the people who live there vs. the rest of us. They seem to keep to themselves. It feels like a boarding house. There’s no social feeling here and the vibe is all around quite down. Can’t say I want to come back.

We had a twin room on a very hot weekend. Being a basemwnt flat it was nicely cool. The accommodation was clean, and the staff were really really helpful about getting to the venue for the concert we were seeing. There was also a "help yourself " light breakfast option for £3. The only issue was the toilets and showers being shared...my mum and I have reached an age where at least one night time toilet stop is a given, and this wasn't ideal as we had to go through the foyer in nightwear to reach them. Otherwise, lovely though.

I stayed in room #4 for 5 nights - they use regular beds instead of bunk beds in this room. The bed was comfy and the number of bathrooms were adequate enough for me. There were traffic noises coming from Grove Road but personally I think they’re still acceptable - you can close the window facing the road and use the electric fans provided if you feel too stuffy. I did enjoy my stay there. Please note that this place is quiet and definitely not a party hostel!

Very nice staff and very good location close to Underground and buses. Nice breakfast for £3, they give you the option to see the breakfast before and you are free to pay for it the days you want to. Confortable beds. I would come back.

We recently stayed as a family of four and were pleased with our room, its space and the value. We also found the nearest tube station, Mile End, very convenient for getting into London and to our final train station. The front desk kindly held our bags on our last day in London--its proximity to the Tube and the direct lines made it possible to leave our bags for free (even if the hostel is a bit out of central London) and come back for them after a full day's sightseeing to make our 6pm Eurostar train.

Answer from LeMoigs

From memory it's about 20-25 minutes from Kensington, the museum district. Local peeps may help me out here. However, it is on a really well connected tube line and there are buses nearby.
