I recently returned from a 3 night stay in the Kuki lodge with my husband and 2 dogs. I have wanted to stay at Whinstone for some time and it certainly didn’t disappoint, having stayed in many lodges in the UK I have to say Whinstone is up there with the top. The lodge itself is beautiful, it’s really well decorated and feels like everything is well made, no cheap furniture or fittings in sight, but it also feels really homely so you can really kick back and make yourself at home. When we arrived we were greeted by some really nice touches, welcome packs for the 2 dogs as well as milk, biscuits and chocolate for ourselves. As you look around the lodge there are so many extra little touches that you don’t always get elsewhere, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, dressing gowns, extra towels outside for the hot tub, so many thoughtful little extras.
One thing I always look for with lodges is how private they are and Kuki really does feel private, including the hot tub which you can enjoy on your front decking and feel like you’re on your own whilst surrounded by beautiful greenery, it really is gorgeous surroundings and so peaceful.
The site itself is fairly small but as there is a bistro on site you really could just stay onsite if you wish. The bistro is lovely, there is an outdoor sitting area with heaters, which we used for most visits as we had the dogs but we also sat inside with the dogs on the last day and that was really lovely too. I’m veggie and the choices I had were really nice, the curry is lovely, and the hummingbird cake is out of this world-one of the nicest cakes I’ve ever had!! Plus the cocktails are pretty lovely too!! We also had our breakfast delivered one day which was a nice option to have and really tasty.
Lastly the staff there are fab, so welcoming, smiley and helpful, glad to help with anything you ask them, they really helped make the stay.
I highly recommend Whinstone View, we for sure will be back again 😊

We've had the most perfect stay. Our log cabin, Roma, was brilliant. Extremely clean and comfortable, especially the bed. Ensuite shower room was very modern with complimentary toiletries. There was a fridge in the cabin where we found milk, chocolate and a bottle of water. There was even a full ice bucket! Everything had been thought about. Tea and coffee making was available with biscuits.
We had the Sunday night stay which included a 2 course Sunday lunch and breakfast the following morning. Service and food were excellent in the restaurant.
To top it all we absolutely loved the hot tub. We were provided with towelling robes and flip-flops.
We would highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

We stayed for 1 night for a Sunday retreat package and it was absolutely beautiful. Our package included a three course Sunday lunch in the bistro where the food was incredible - one of the best Sunday lunches we have ever had. We then headed over to our lodge (Bazare) and it was completely stunning. Having stayed here a couple of times now, Bazare is definitely our favourite lodge. It did not disappoint.

We will definitely be back!

Had the most excellent stay at Whinstone View cabins, we stayed in Zoffany for 2 nights, the cabin was spotless, the bed very comfortable and the hot tub we were in for 80% of our stay. Breakfast was delivered to the cabin every morning and was absolutely delicious. If i was to have 1 tiny moan it would be the fridge is not big enough to chill my wine lol Everything was perfect 👌

I stayed at Whinstone View (Kuki Lodge) with friends for a low key birthday celebration in Feb 2020. Given I got married here in 2017 & have stayed before I expected the usual high standards I have always experienced in the past. Unfortunately I have to admit that I was a little disappointed. An overnight stay for 4 x persons in Kuki Lodge is £425 & for this price I would suggest that guests have a right to expect that the lodge is in top notch condition. This was not the case during our stay & it would be fair to say that this particular lodge is in need of some serious TLC & improvement....
*The heavy cover for the hot tub was damaged (handle/lever no longer attached) & this made putting it back on unnecessarily difficult. It took a supreme effort by two of us to haul it back on after using the hot tub
*The freezer door located inside the fridge was broken & kept falling off everytime the main fridge door was opened
*The dishwasher smelled disgusting & the tablets provided were the wrong size for that model
*Some of the cupboard doors in the kitchen were loose & seemed to be on the verge of falling off their hinges
*A tiny amount of toilet roll had been left in the bathroom - it clearly hadn’t been replenished after the previous guests had vacated the lodge & there were no spares rolls to be found anywhere. We ended up having to use our own supply of tissues!
*There was no lodge file/manual to explain how to use the central heating / phone / TV & radio. The only manuals provided related to the kitchen appliances
We did enjoy our stay in spite of these issues & should mention that the food in the bistro remains up to its usual high standards. However, if these things aren’t pointed out then Whinstone View cannot address the situation. We really hope they do as given it is such a lovely spot it would be a real shame to let standards slip. Let’s just hope this was just a one-off temporary blip!

Hi Jane W, We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. We have inspected the lodge and checked everything you have mentioned. All cupboard doors are in immaculate condition, the fridge/freezer works perfectly. The dishwasher is clean, and is cleaned after every lodge stay. We've checked the dishwasher tablets and they definitely do fit! Everything seems to be working as it should, but we will keep an eye out for the issues you've raised. The hot tub lids are very heavy and can be quite hard to manoeuvre, but this is due to the nature of the design to keep in the heat, in between uses. We will double check that the handle is secure but we can't see any obvious damage to it. We provide two rolls of toilet paper in each lodge, one on the holder and one kept in the cupboard in the kitchen. We feel this is enough for a one night stay. If our housekeeping had missed this or you needed more, then we would have been more than happy to bring any extra supplies over as stated in the information sheet. I'm sorry if this wasn't made clear. The TV remote is very easy to use, as is the phone so we feel that it doesn't need explaining, but we do take your points on board. We are glad to read that you did enjoy your stay despite these issues and great to hear you all enjoyed your meal in the bistro. Kind regards, Whinstone View

Have stayed here twice now (Zoffany and Bizarre) and ate in the bistro both times. Accommodation is very nice and the surroundings are beautiful. The outdoor seating area is lovely for a post meal glass of wine and if we lived closer we would definitely be regulars in the bistro. I do feel the price for a one night stay is slightly overpriced and maybe when business is more ‘normal’ could consider including a small spa treatment or a % off the food bill for staying guests - just a suggestion :) The only negative in regards to the most recent stay is that i ordered a non nut brownie (allergic) and was given a nut brownie but my husband was happy as he got two desserts.

My partner treated me to a night at whinstone view for my Christmas present in January and wow it did not disappoint! We had the most amazing time in the Zoffany lodge, I had never been to anywhere like this before but wow it exceeded all expectations!
Before check in we decided to pop into the bistro for food which was lovely as always!
Check in was smooth and efficient and we were shown over to the lodge and shown how to work the hot tub etc, all our questions were answered there and then.
The lodge was gorgeous complete with a mini bar which we took advantage of and dressing gowns which were useful after the hot tub. We loved every second of our mini break and felt a million miles away from home even though we weren’t far away at all. The lodge was set at a a lovely temperature all night and it was extremely cosy and warm!
The morning after we went over to the bistro for our complimentary breakfast where we were greeted by Marie and the team who were extremely friendly and helpful...there was the choice of a continental breakfast which included a selection of juices, cereals and some lovely freshly baked croissants, this was all laid out for you to get as you sat down and you also have the choice of the menu on your tables which is for all of the other breakfast items also at no extra cost - we had full English breakfasts which were amazing!!
I would recommend anyone who wants a get away to visit Whinstone View as I had never felt more refreshed!
Thank you to all at Whinstone we can’t wait to return in the near future!

We stayed in the Kuki lodge which is right at the end of the strip of lodges and whilst it’s normally meant for 4 people, there was just the 2 of us. Personally we felt it was a good amount of space in the lodge for 2 people anyway and we really loved the interior decor and overall coziness of the lodge. Temperate wise the lodges get VERY WARM. We found the management to be efficient, attentive and generous and just generally super lovely which made it quite a rememberable stay.

We also dined at the Bistro and again, no complaints there. Friendly and efficient staff and dead good food

We are a group of 6 over 50’s ladies who stayed in the “Frida” lodge for two nights. The lodge was amazing, very roomy, clean and well thought out. We were all very pleased about where the lodge was situated in relation to the other lodges. There was enough space between them all for them to be completely private. We enjoyed lazing around the decking area with swimsuits on and dipping in and out of the hot tub….something we would have been a tad self conscious about had we been closer to the other lodges. Good quality robes and towels were provided.
Sleeping arrangements were good, and beds very comfy. Two very stylish bathrooms with everything you need. Showers were amazing, obviously of good quality and of a high standard.
We used the lounge area evening time, also very stylish and comfortable. We watched a little TV and played one of the provided board games.
The place was just perfect and the owners have thought of everything, even down to extension leads, shower caps, complimentary tea, coffee. We couldn’t of asked for anything better. I could go on forever saying how fab this place is, a hidden gem right on our doorstep. Well done to the owners and staff for making our two days perfect.
We will return

Just returned from a lovely night at one of our favourite places to get away and chill out. Whinstone View was as good as ever and we felt very well cared for and Covid safe. There is a very clear contactless check in and out system which is all clearly explained in a pre arrival email.
The lodge is super clean and comfy and after a relaxing evening in the hot tub we slept like logs.
We chose to have our breakfast delivered to the lodge. Again this was easy to do and with super safe delivery. And it was also delicious!!
They have adapted really well to the current situation and we were so pleased to return. It was odd without the usual friendly welcome and banter with Mandy on reception but totally understandable. We love it here and have already booked two more visits!!
PS Oh no!! We left our blue duck behind! Our large collection of Whinstone View ducks is very sad!!! 🦆
