Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautifullly appointed rooms with great attention to detail. Imaginative and generous range of continental breakfast ingredients laid out plus proper pod coffee! Two tiny niggles.... washbasin taps fitted back to front and bathroom door didn't close. Otherwise all good and would return without hesitation

We travel all over the country with work and we have lots of different experiences concerning the accommodation that we stay in. This place is a little gem. Very friendly helpful hosts, spotlessly clean rooms, comfy beds and lovely surroundings.
The facilities were more than adequate for needs. It's was just what we needed after a hard day's graft.
Thanks for having us.

Stayed in a modern and convenient room in a refurbished barn in the delightful garden, very good. Breakfast very good. A little way out of the centre of the village but hostess is willing to transport you (and pick you up) from eateries. We ate in the Chip Inn in the centre of the village, battered skate - gorgeous!

I stayed in The Chestnuts for two nights in April. The host, Sue, was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the Wi-Fi was good. There was a small kitchen area for people to use which was great for me as I was on my own and could make food in the evening.
The breakfasts were lovely. I would definitely recommend.

My husband and myself have just returned from stopping 4 nights in this delightful B&B. There are two ensuite rooms which are separate from the main house. The rooms are located in a delightful wooden building with garages underneath. Our room was spotlessly clean. It was nice and quiet so we both slept very well. This is a dog friendly accommodation which suited us as we were on holiday with our small dog. There was no dog odour at all in the room and the only stipulation is that dogs are not allowed on furniture, which was fine for us. The breakfast was delicious. Sue, the proprietor was very welcoming and a mind of information regarding the local area. I can recommend this B&B without hesitation.

The Chestnuts is what we want and hope to get in a B&B but often do not. It's a lovely location with a beautiful garden, clean, comfortable and quiet rooms and superb hospitality. Sue, the proprietor, is always ready to help with any travel needs and she prepares a wonderful breakfast. And the price is reasonable too. You can't go wrong staying here!

We arrived early evening and Sue came out to greet us - she then took us to our en-suite room which is located in a beautifully constructed barn with our accomdation on the first floor above the garages. We had plenty of headroom and had tea & coffee making equipment and fresh milk in the fridge in the reception area right outside of our front door. There is a quality TV in the room with good reception - hair dryer. iron and even ironing can be done for you if you ask! The power shower is double size with excllent pressure leaving you feeling quite rejuvinated. The bed is very comfortable and we even managed to see deer in the garden; all in all a perfect place to stay. Breakfast is taken in the conservatory of the main house we had a full english breakfast with as much tea and toast as you could hope for - beautifully presented and cooked meal. We had a good chat with the owners before we left and I can honestly say that this B&B is definitely well worth a visit and is superb value for money. Many Thanks - e will be back.

This is the second time myself husband and small dog have stopped at The Chestnuts. The last time was 3 years ago. Its just as spotlessly clean and appears freshly painted. There is a handy little sink and microwave which is shared with the other bedroom. This is dog friendly accommodation, although you would never know, as there is no evidence of previous occupants. The breakfasts were a delight and set us up for the day. We would highly recommend The Chestnuts, and would stop again without hesitation. Thank you Sue!

I booked this self catering lodge for family members visiting us for a birthday party. It was way better than any of us could have anticipated. Lovely location and surroundings. The lodge itself was very very nice with seating areas outside and it was very nicely decorated and cosy. My family absolutely loved their stay here and told me that the owners were so accommodating and very nice people. Would highly recommend and will use again if needs be.

"There are two rooms, and either is delightful. They are on the second level of an old barn which offers much charm. Sue can recommend wonderful restaurants nearby, and she'll make the reservations for you! Definitely five stars."
