Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband booked in advance for the taster menu with wine flight for my birthday. We arrived to be told the taster menu had been stopped. Having pointed out he’d booked it especially they then hastily arranged a taster menu. But overall it was disappointing, long delays to be served, raw kidneys that had to be sent back, missed courses from the taster experience and a very cold restaurant. Overall very poor, staff trying very hard to appease a number of unhappy customers too.

Absolutely fabulous Festive Afternoon Tea. Wonderful choice of savouries and delicious selection of exquisite pastries. I later found out there is a new pastry chef here from France and very talented he/she is! A special mention too for the attentive, friendly restaurant and Front of House staff who ensured from when booking through to arrival our vegetarian request was no trouble. Served in the stunning Wine Press resturant. Oh and spotlessly clean Loos with lovely White Company toiletries all contributed to making our visit special.

I am sorry if some items were missing from the bar. We do try our very best to ensure good availability. If the bathroom does not have a heated towel rail, it would have a heated capillary system within the walls. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us on this occasion.

We couldn’t recommend The Maid’s Head highly enough. Five star service from helpful and smiley staff, delicious food and the most luxurious rooms with extremely comfortable beds - you even have a choice of pillows! Stylishly designed and immaculately presented with tonnes of atmosphere and quirky add-ons including complementary trips in a Bentley down to a waffle toaster. A great place to be based to explore the wonders of Norwich. A city that has so much more to offer than you would imagine!

Lovely character hotel in centre of city with car park and within easy walking distance of most attractions. If you have time try the city centre tour in their vintage Bentley. Highly recommend Maids Head as represents exceptional value for money.

My husband and I visited Norwich for the first time and stayed at the beautiful Maids Head Hotel conveniently located in the centre of the city. From start to finish our experience was first class. On arrival parking couldn’t have been easier with a large carpark directly behind the hotel. We were greeted in the carpark by a very enthusiastic member of staff who took our bags and showed us to reception. We were so impressed with the charming interior and again the reception staff could not have been more welcoming. Our room was perfect, immaculately clean with a gorgeous en-suite bathroom and an extremely comfortable bed. We ate dinner at the hotel which was absolutely delicious as was breakfast the following morning and we both had the best nights sleep with absolutely no noise disturbances (unusual in any hotel!). All in all a wonderful experience being looked after by a truly fabulous team - we thoroughly recommend and will definitely return!

We had a really fantastic stay at the Maids Head Hotel. The staff are really friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our dinner was excellent, we all raved about the homemade salted caramel icecream!! All our bedrooms were extremely clean, warm and the beds are top quality, again immaculately clean and well presented. Highly recommend!

From start to finish, my stay was outstanding. From the friendliness of the staff as I arrived to the attention to detail within the rooms. Having had a long week at work, I was made to feel at home and had one of the best nights sleep all year. Norwich itself has a lot to offer, I recommend a walk around the cathedral, especially if the sun is out!

My wife and I went to stay for a weekend away and had fantastic time.. Breakfast was delicious, perfectly located to explore Norwich and just a 10 minute walk from the train station… our room was dog friendly and the staff had very kindly provided dog beds, biscuits and bowls… we would certainly stay again.
