The Broadview Hotel garners praise for its clean and functional atmosphere, ideally situated close to UEA and the city center, making it a convenient base for visiting family and attending local events. While rooms are generally seen as clean and serviceable, some guests have experienced them to be overly warm and less equipped than expected.
The hotel's value is recognized for its affordability, despite some suggestions for improved amenities and maintenance in communal areas. Staff are commended for their helpfulness, even as guests note room for enhancement in facilities.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed in ‘Accessible’ room with my sister. Two extremely comfortable single beds. Plenty of space for my mobility aids. Daily housekeeping to exchange towels etc. Beautifully presented, very clean, ground floor room with automatic doors etc. Wet room shower with built in seat was very accessible and easy for me to use independently. Accessible toilet was fine too. (Could use a couple of hooks on the wall to prevent towels and clothing from getting wet whilst in shower and improved ventilation to prevent toilet paper from getting damp.)
Some issues with the very small bathroom basin which I found very difficult to use effectively - I was unable to get my hands into the basin to wash my face because the tap was too big and I found the tap too stiff to operate. Fortunately, my sister was able to help me out. Also, it was impossible to fill the kettle because it would not fit in the sink.
That aside, I will definitely be looking to book into Broadview Lodge for my future Norwich trips.
Oh, one other thing - The reception staff and housekeeping staff are all totally amazing. So incredibly friendly and helpful. Thanks a million to them all.

Booked 7 rooms for a reunion with 7 UEA contemporaries some not seen for decades. The location of Broadview Lodge was ideal for looking round the campus and easy to get into the city on the frequent buses. The rooms were a major improvement on Waveney Terrace we had all lived in around 59 years ago. Whilst not generous in size were very adequate, warm, clean and with a comfortable bed. The staff at Broadview were very friendly and helpful. Free parking in the main car park was very convenient.

The room was clean, well-equipped (tea and coffee making facilities, bathroom essentials and even a mini fridge, which was really handy as I stayed for a few days) and had a really comfortable double bed (firm but not too firm mattress and four really good pillows). The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The campus is lovely to walk around and is a great location to stay at in terms of facilities, as there is a shop, post office, laundrette, sports park (swimming pool, gym, climbing wall and much more) and of course several bars and cafés (I highly recommend a light lunch or a sweet treat with some great coffee at the Modern Life Café in the Sainsbury Centre (and you can also pay to see the exhibition/s while you're there, of course - the current one of Native American art and artefacts is fascinating). The bus to town is frequent (numbers 25 and 26, from the stop by the main carpark - a 3 minute walk from the Lodge), inexpensive (GBP 2 for a single ticket) and it takes around 15 to 20 minutes, depending on which part of town you go to. All in all, I would definitely stay here again, possibly even in the coming months! If you are arriving into the airport, I recommend booking a taxi in advance (A2B taxis can be called on (+44) 01603 552354) as there may be a bit of a wait otherwise. Enjoy!

I was recently there for a 2 night stay with family for a wedding. It was mid August and daytime tempreture was in the low-mid 20s. The rooms we booked were horrendously hot. Luckily we knew how to 'pop' the windows otherwise we wouldn't have been able to open them more than 5cm. Even the fridge was radiating hot air, so we had to turn it off. The fan provided helped a bit but you could really feel the heat as you entered the accommodation block (much hotter than it was outside, both during the day and at night).
There was an iron and iron board provided communally for guests to use (at the top of the stairs), as well as tea/coffee/hot chocolate refreshed daily which is appreciated.
The accommodation was fine, generally clean, if the rooms are rather small. The family room is excellent though if travelling with children, as there is plenty of space in the room and a huge accessible bathroom. There were plenty of hangers in the wardrobe.
I do have to give praise to the cleaners who were really lovely and very helpful. I was travelling with a baby and they went out of their way to be friendly and played 'peek a boo' every time they went past our door, much to the delight of my grandson.
Breakfast at the sports centre left much to be desired - largely due to one somewhat rude member of staff who as good as told me that I would get what I was given when I asked for a softly poached egg and that she had no control over the chef! You are encouraged to pre-book breakfast, but it is possible to just turn up and purchase it for the same price which would be better as if you don't like it you are effectively stuffed and can't get a refund! The full English breakfast was big, with 2 sausages, 2 bits of bacon, 2 eggs, 2 rostis, 2 halves of tomato plus baked beans.
The room is quite a way from the carpark if you are travelling with luggage and small children (as we were) which makes it difficult as noone was around to help with bags which you would get from a hotel.

We stayed here recently when we came to Norwich for a concert at the UEA. It's perfect for this purpose as the hotel is literally just around the corner from the venue. Even so it's a lovely, peaceful place to stay. The room was clean and quiet with tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, ensuite wetroom with complimentary soap and bodywash and a hairdryer. Our double bed was warm and very comfortable.
There is an adhustable heater, also a fan in the wardrobe in case it gets warmer, and a safety deposit box.
The rooms are cleaned every morning, even on Sundays and the staff we met were all lovely and very helpful. The lift worked and all the public areas are clean and bright with a free water fountain to top up drinking bottles.
The hotel is set in gorgeous grounds with its own Broad and breakfast was available though we didn't partake. There is also a nice little Spar supermarket just across the precinct if you forget to bring anything.
We had a most enjoyable stay and will definitely come again.

For those staying in Uni for some training or anything, it is an excellent idea. They are very nice, friendly, secure, and clean.
I did not want a service room one day, and the lady insisted if I wanted some coffees or tea bags, or biscuits, and clean towels.
I will always stay there, when on campus.
Thank you.

We arrived late (10:30pm) but easily found a space in the very large car park opposite. The barrier was up so no need to take a token. This was because there was a gig on at the SU so parking was free, apparently, you usually take a token and have it validated at the hotel reception. We took our bags with us from the car at this point as the hotel is nearer to the security office than the car park (reception closes at 9pm, late check in is done at security).
The hotel isn't easy to find if you don't know where you are going and in the dark! I had mentioned to reception on booking that we would be arriving later and they emailed immediately with full details to collect the key from the security office. This wasn't easy to find and didn't show on the map we looked at. All fine in the end and all the swipe cards and keys worked.
I would definitely recommend this hotel either for a gig, open day or for visiting students. A great location on site. The room was very similar to a travel lodge set up. Lots of hot water for the shower, tea, coffee making facilities, fan, mini fridge.
We paid for the light breakfast in the Sportpark a short walk over the carpark which was well worth it.
Lovely, helpful staff, easy parking, nice breakfast, great location for visiting UEA or Norwich (the bus takes 25mins and they leave regularly from near the car park).

Graduation day arrival to stay in a hotel I thought was on a main road, it sits on a student campus and the hotel is part of the student accommodation block.
Arrived after driving. Nearly an hour to find the entrance in a box Luton van, which did not fit through the carpark barrier, which was very full due to graduation parents.
I eventually found the reception which if you are old and carrying cases like my mother would then don’t even bother as you HAVE TO WALK from carpark down to entrance
I was greeted very nicely and directed to my room on the 3 floor. Entering the room the temperature inside was a sweat box so went to open window and it had a 2 inch cap which was stopped by a safety metal bar. There was a small fan which iI put on trying to cool the room down. After a days work thought I would take a shower which flooded the so called wet room as it drained so slowly.I then thought lay on bed have a coffee and watch tv laid in a towel to keep cool. Added the milk and they all were curdled so had to get dressed and go to reception to get more.when you leave the room the strong spring makes it bang the door it you let it close behind you, and remembering to lock it as it didn’t. Lock automatics. You then needed you key again to actually get out and your pass to even use the lift . On way down to reception saw a water machine so pulled a free cup, pressed cold water and expected a refreshing cold drink to find Luke warm water. Thought it might be in pipe so tried again and same Luke warm water. Arriving back in the room I could hear very load banging music so had to close the only fresh air coming in . I went to bed and sue to the heat in the room I woke at 5pm handed my key in and left
The hotel.com pictures show a fantastic hotel and not a student accommodation block with rooms to let for the night.
No where to eat on late arrival, and the sports and pool is other side of campus but you think it’s just near by.
Very dissatisfied customer
If you want to see your child graduate then great for one night but not for me

Regular amenities provided:
Wardrobe with hangers and an umbrella, electric fan, under counter fridge, kettle, tea bags etc. and tv available.
Small wet room style shower room with toilet and hand basin, shower gel, shampoo and towels provided.
Value for money and does exactly what it says on the tin!

I was coming up for my PhD viva , and wanted a place on campus to stay.
The rooms are clean and had flashbacks to my undergraduate days . The room had a big desk and Netflix on the tv. It also had free coffee and tea , milk in the cartons and a large, clean communal kitchen. My room had a clean en-suite with lots of towels and shampoo and body wash.
The student union is only a few mins walk away, for cheap pizza and drinks .
My room was very quiet away, despite it being term time and during the week.
I may be biased as I passed my PhD and had an excellent viva , but I would recommend anyone coming up to UEA to stay here. If you have no connection to the uni and want a cheap , clean and very safe place to stay to visit Norwich, it’s hard to beat, but keep in mind the town centre is a good 20 minute bus ride but regular bus is only 5 mins walks from the lodge.
