I needed a place to stay as I was attending a film convention in Great Yarmouth. But Norwich was easier for me to get to.

This hotel literary ticked all the boxes for what I needed. It was close to the train station, (about 5 minutes walking distance) it wasn't expensive as I was only staying a couple of nights. (not to mention that I was on a tight budget anyway)

I will admit that although you have a nightclub next door to it, don't let that put you off. Because if your one of the guests of the hotel you can go into that club for free. The only issue I had is that you don't see the staff that often, so if you do needed help. There was no way to find them.

I would say the rooms were OK nothing special, but if your only staying for a couple of nights why would you go and stay at a four or five star hotel, there's no point. When I stayed there, the noise from the nightclub didn't bother me all that much, far from it it actually adds some charm to the place.

If your ever considering visiting Norwich and need a place to stay for a few nights, do give this hotel some consideration. Just don't let the nightclub put you off.

First off this would have been a bit higher but for one thing. The bar underneath the hotel is not a bar. It’s a nightclub. There was non-stop noise until 4am. After that the street cleaners came out. We were doubly unlucky as it was 30°c during the day so we needed the windows open. If you’re going to Norwich for a night out and you’ll be out until then, you’ll be fine here. Maybe during the week when the club isn’t open as well wouldn’t be so bad. They should really disclose this before you book.

Aside from that the room was clean (although the fixtures and fittings are dated) and the bed was fairly comfortable. There was a fan provided which was very welcome! It is rough around the edges. The bathroom window didn’t open and there was no extractor fan so you need to be comfortable with whoever you’re staying with! The holder for the shower head was smashed so we had to hold the shower head by hand. The staff were nice and friendly and did warn us about the noise from the nightclub but at the point of check in it was too late.

Not the worst place I’ve ever stayed but I couldn’t go higher than a two star because of the noise.

Booked through laterooms.com, design of room = pretty. bathroom = terrible, no hot water, ceiling was so low one practically has to sit down the shower!!! The service was ok though. Location not good, that place is very noisy even on a Wednesday night. If it's on Thur-Sat it will be super noisy as that street has so many clubs/pubs. I would not recommend to stay unless you're on budget.

Definitely a case of you get what you pay for.
We were greated by a friendly staff member who had warned us about the noise from the club below, this wasn't a problem as we were on a girls night out for a birthday so didt plan on staying in the room, it was just somewhere to sleep at the end of the night.
On entering the building the hallway smelt like swetty bum and the room was even worse. The room was an ok size and definitely in need of some tlc and a hoover. The bathroom was disgusting 🫣 and did not get used!!!
We arrived back and the noise from the club was still going on past 3.30am, definitely not for you if you like your sleep. During the night I got bit countless times by gods knows what in the bed. I won't be returning as its the kind of hotel that is used for one thing and one thing only if you know what I mean!!!!

Filthy, stained bedding, no lock on paper thin door, noisy, unhygienic, unsafe, unhelpful staff. I couldn't stay as it felt totally unsafe so I paid to stay at the travel lodge. The room was on the 1st floor so directly above the nightclub.
No door from the club to the hotel so anyone could walk in Do not even think of staying there.

The Belmonte is located in a busy nightlife part of the city so isn't a hotel you would book for peace and quiet. Having said that, the hotel is clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was perfectly adequate for my one night stay. And I would have no hesitatio in booking again. There are a large number of much more expensive hotels that are no better and sometimes worse than the Belmonte so if you don't mind the music and people outside being loud until late then this is ideally suited for a night out in Norwich.

Stayed here for a few nights whilst visiting friends for a birthday party. Although it's above a nightclub the music didn't bother me too much as wasn't to loud but the emptying of glass bins every hr or so was more annoying I was on the 2nd floor at the rear of the building. Room was basic but not much more you could ask for at the price. Staff were welcoming and polite and room was clean what more do you want. If you don't mind a little noise it's not a bad place to stay. Would use it again in the future.

Dont listen to the reviews on here.. Yes it is situated on a busy road, but you know that before you travel. The service is good, nice friendly welcome, room is clean and ours was a good size. We stayed here after a night out so got back pretty late and there was no issues at all. Great value and exactly what it says on the tin. Perfect for a group of lads/girls after a night out.

On the positive side, a very friendly welcome, spacious and comfortable room, very good price for a central Norwich hotel. In defence of the hotel, I was not bright enough to think of closing the window, so for those of us in front bedrooms, it was a bit noisy with late night passers-by and delivery lorries. On a practical note, the Rose Lane car park is very good value and close to hotel.

The stench of human faeces was overpowering. I walked up the stairs and it only got stronger. My key didn’t work and I just gave up. Booked into another hotel from the street. Awful experience. Was informed later that it was a “drains problem. Avoid
