Back in February when I first started planning my trip to England, I ran across a blogger's description and photos of Gothic House and knew right away I wanted to stay there. I mailed Clive, the owner, and he courteously replied. I had been looking forward to my stay there, and when I finally got there, I was not disappointed.... More

Phil, Thank you so much for having taken the time to write such a generous review of Gothic House. I am pleased that everything lived up to your expectations and I do hope that the other places that you visited (during your all-too-brief) visit to the UK also did. I know that you were trying to pack so much into... More

Very welcoming owner very attentive ,lovely big room and bathroom. Had 2 restful nights sleep in a comfortable bed. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. There was some nice extras in the room(glass of sherry) which all in all made a stay in Norwich very comfortable. Would stay here again !!

First thing I have to say is that we really enjoyed our stay; Clive is a lovely host who really cares about his guests. We had great conversations and he helped us patiently with all our questions. The rooms and the whole B&B have wonderful decorations; a lot of effort was put into all the details and we appreciated that... More

The owner didn't seem to know we were coming. The house is beautiful but the owner was not very welcoming. Breakfast was wonderful as was our room, apart from its proximity to the pub. Sadly I was ill and we were forced to only spend one night instead of two. The noise had been terrible during the night and I... More

Yes indeed, I was utterly confused on your arrival and for some reason had it in my head that you were arriving on the following day. There was that awful sinking feeling that I had 'doubled booked.' But I hadn't, I was just having one of those 'dizzy moments' hence the confused welcome - and I did apologise at the... More

Spent a couple of nights here and found it to be an interesting and pleasant stay. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the city, we were well placed to walk into Norwich city center. There are only two rooms, which were uniquely furnished and eccentric. Finally the full English breakfast was very tasty. Would certainly go back.

This was our fourth visit to this delightful B & B, situated in a gated courtyard. It's high standards are as good as ever. Clive is an excellent host and always makes sure you are well cared for. Add to this a lovely resident cat called Khmer, what more could you ask for.

We spent two wonderful nights with our lovely and generous hosts Clive and Khmer the cat. Everything about Gothic House speaks to a love of the building, history and of style and design. I haven't updated my report on the wonderful upmarket Bed & Breakfast for a while, yet I have returned again and again. The Gothic house remains a delight: clean, stylish, unique, welcoming.... the rooms as comfortable as ever, with spotless linen, great tea making facilities (including fresh milk, fresh fruit and biscuits), amazingly comfortable bed...The bathrooms are pristine, with lovely... We stayed at Gothic House for 2 nights last week and were rewarded by an experience beyond just finding a roof over our head. Clive is a thoroughly unique host; a thoughtful, intelligent addition to an immaculate property. The stay could not have been bettered.

Clive is an excellent host. Very proper and hospitable. A great English breakfast (probably the best I have had) and the rooms are decorated extremely well. It is a little hidden and in a courtyard which adds to its charm.
