We had 3 very comfortable nights here. We were certainly very well looked after. I can only confirm the general comments made previously about the way guests are looked after, effectively as though they are at the invitation of the hosts. Shirley's baking is certainly not to be turned away and she and her husband, Robert, are very sociable without being obtrusive. The rooms do vary, though they are all top quality. Only one has an actual (unusual shaped!) bath. The others just have showers which were very good and I did appreciate the automatic night light. Storage space in my room was quite fine and the fan was also good to see. There are not really chairs for sitting around in the rooms but if any sitting around is wanted, it can be done in the breakfast room. Plenty of local information is provided for visitors. Breakfast is in a lovely room and included excellent fruit salad, a variety of cereals and a great full English option which I, for one, enjoyed. I also appreciated the fact that the serviettes were proper linen ones, not just paper. I cannot think of anything negative to report but would only say by way of information that the rooms are upstairs for anyone who has trouble walking.

One of the best b and b's I have ever stayed in. Great location on the edge of Settle. Next to the Way of the Roses route for cyclists. We were met by Shirley who had made chocolate brownies and tea for us. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the hosts absolutely lovely. Perfect breakfast with fruit, yoghurt, local honey as well as the usual full English if you want it. All served in a spacious light dining room overlooking the garden. Faultless!

Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. The room was beautiful and we spent a very comfortable night here with a great breakfast included. There was even a bike rack in the secure garage. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for a week. The owners are so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room was airy and light. Agree with what others have said about cake (although we had scones which were also delicious). The room was lovely and clean. The bathroom was small but adequate. It is close enough to walk into Settle or Giggleswick and there was plenty of parking. We are looking forward to going back next year.

I was attending a nephews wedding in Settle and was down to stay at the Royal Oak, but having seen the state of my allocated room I was literally appalled at the state of it. I decided I could not stay there and ended up at Valleymead. I can truly say that Shirley is a lady who goes above and beyond to make your stay at Valleymead a most pleasant one. This guest house is lovely in a peaceful setting a beautiful garden rooms spotlessly clean and Shirley was a very kind lady made you feel very welcome, a cup of tea on arrival. The breakfast was superb and very filling. In my estimation I rate Valleymead a deservedly four star. Thank you Shirley and Robert wonderful hosts.
