The staff are exceptional, they are efficient, friendly and helpful. The food served at the Lion has always been excellent and this last visit was no different. The atmosphere inside is warm and the Lion is very clean and tidy. Highly recommended!

Stayed for two nights while at ukulele weekend. Spot on. Really friendly helpful staff, good selection of beers, good food, room clean comfy bed and everything you need ( couple more hooks would be good). Middle of town but no road noise to speak of. Pub is busy but didn't keep us awake. NO surcharge for smoked salmon and scrambled...

last week my Wife and I stayed for two nights. I had read the many positive reviews which sceptics might think would lull the staff into a false sense of security. NOT A BIT!! I had visited last year and we were delighted with every aspect of our stay and this time was even better if that could be possible....

The Lion is right in the middle of Settle and all the staff are very friendly. There are several good walls right out of the door. The restaurant is good and you can eat in the bar of you prefer. The rooms are of a good standard and our bathroom was roomy. There's no parking on site but there are...

We visited this pub/hotel twice while staying elsewhere in Settle (we were on a budget and the Lion was slightly out of our price range sadly), the first time for a drink, to escape the cold & rain after a walk and the second time for dinner. The pub is centrally located, has a good selection of beers and a...

Lunch with 4 of us and 2 dogs. Lovely friendly atmosphere, warm pub, good food. Excellent beer. Visited on a cold January day and had a very pleasant lunch. The room we sat in was well set out with comfy chairs, just off the main lounge area.

A very enjoyable return to the Lion hotel. Since our last stay here all the rooms have had a complete makeover and very good they are too. We were in room 7 with an ample lounging area. The bathroom is good too. The food here is great too with a good choice from the menu, plus the specials board. I...

We were told that the rooms had been refurbished around a year ago so no surprise that ours was really stylish and comfortable. What came as a welcome surprise was to find large mugs and decent Yorkshire tea bags together with a flask of fresh milk. The bathroom was really big and included a bath and shower which was nice...

On off chance booked in, friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. Room overlooked back area, seems there were many added on houses, rooms, etc which made the visit an interesting maze. We had a very generous breakfast. Only draw back was no on site parking however managed a car spot nearby surrounded by a motor cycling group All very friendly..
