I stayed in mid September 2023 for a few days as a lone traveller and found Chris and Jackie very hospitable, warm and friendly and had lots of helpful advice about the area and this made me feel very relaxed and welcomed and I enjoyed the stay there very much. The room was very clean, bright and nicely decorated and the bathroom attractive, it even had a Jacuzzi bath! The room was at the front road side and still very quiet and its windows had secondary glazing, plus it was nice and warm.
The guest house is perfectly situated in the town centre, just off the main central street, so nice and quiet, and only a short 6 minute walk from Settle train station and 3 minute walk to the local bus stop and the tourist information office is very close too. There are lots of local pubs and eateries for lunch or dinners, and a co-op supermarket just a 3 minute walk away if you need any supplies. It's a perfect base if you want to hike or bike the local area or if you want to get the train or bus to other places on away day trips.
The breakfast there was high quality. I had some cereals and then a nice full English breakfast with coffee and toast after. All was very nicely cooked with quality ingredients and enough to keep me going hiking the beautiful local area for a good length of time.
I would definitely stay there again and I was touched with Chris and Jackie's amazing hospitality and quality breakfasts and the guest house is in a very choice position which is convenient and a peaceful location.

We enjoyed our stay at the King William IV guest house immensely. Settle is such a nice, walkable town. The guest house is perfectly located to walk everywhere Plus a launderette just 3 doors away (which we needed). The hosts were available to help with our tourist questions and mentioned a few things we hadn't known about. One of my favorite shaowers of the holiday. We would happily return.

I stayed here while cycling the Pennine Bridleway. The accommodation was very modern and comfortable and the veggie breakfast was delicious. Jackie and Chris were superb hosts and couldn't have been more helpful. They stored my bike safely overnight and let me use their work stand to change my brake pads in the morning. Many thanks.

We stayed at King William IV on our way through cycling the Way of the Roses. The hosts called us to check in partway through the day when we didn't arrive when expected and when we did finally drag ourselves in at 8.30pm, they immediately gave us advice on how and where to get food locally. So helpful after such a long day on our bikes!
Bikes were securely put away for us and returned the next morning with our water bottles filled up with lovely icy water. Lovely veggie cooked breakfast, comfortable beds and room. Would definitely recommend.

Spent a long hiking weekend here in July. Jackie and Chris were friendly hosts who were able to give good advice on the local area, and helped make my stay comfortable and trouble-free.
My single room was small but well furnished and the ensuite wetroom was high quality.
Breakfast was a choice of cereals with unlimited fresh fruit salad followed by a cooked breakfast of your own choosing.

3rd time staying, we love our stays here. Jackie and Chris are the best hosts. Nothing is too much trouble . Rooms are spotless and have everything you need, and if there’s anything you need just ask. There is nothing they do not know about the area. Best brekkie in Yorkshire. Perfect base for the Yorkshire 3 peaks and for cycling . They will store your bikes inside for you and Jackie even cleaned ours after a cold wet ride . You won’t find better . The jacuzzi bath in Fuggles is always a warm welcome after a long ride or hike!

This place was excellent and decorated to a very high standard. We stayed in the Flying Herbert room and it had everything we needed, including someone popping a couple of wine glasses in when they noticed we had brought wine with us and was also beautifully clean. Chris and Jackie were very welcoming and the breakfasts were fantastic. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them including shopping for vegetarian options for breakfast which I only mentioned on our first day there. We had a great stay in a beautiful location and would certainly highly recommend the King William for value for money and great hosts too.

I cycled from Morecambe to Bridlington, and this guest house was undoubtedly the best of the accommodations I stayed at. The room was spacious, bright and very comfortable. It was on the ground floor, but I wasn't disturbed by noise from the street at all. The breakfast was excellent.

First impressions count and ours was that the King William VI was a very welcoming, warm and friendly environment and we were not disappointed. Our room was on the ground floor and had a wet room. The room was clean and well furnished and all the accessories were of high quality. The only down sides regarding the room was that my wife, who has mobility problems, found the wooden floor very slippery and the toilet too low. We should have checked with the owner before we visited and could have brought our seat riser. Like every thing at this establishment the breakfast was of high quality, plentiful, varied and well cooked. The owners were friendly, but not intrusive, kind and helpful. They even provided us with a route and map for our drive out on Saturday. I would recommend the King William VI to anyone without hesitation.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we are pleased you found our guest house warm and welcoming with a great breakfast. You did mention during your stay the issue with your wife's walking sticks on the wooden floor, it's a shame you didn't also talk to us about the toilet seat being too low, as we do have a seat riser available and could have easily put it in the bathroom for you. It's much appreciated that you would recommend us.

I'm afraid we do not have the facilities to provide our Yorkshire Breakfast in our Bedrooms. You may wish to try No: 3 in Settle I know they provide this service. Best Regards Jackie
