King William the fourth Guest House provides high quality Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the centre of the beautiful North Yorkshire town of Settle. Ideal as a base for walking in the Yorkshire Dales or for those with an interest in the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway. We have six delightfully individual en suite rooms which blend period features with contemporary decor. We are only able to make a minimum of a two night booking at weekends; these could be either Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday nights. We enjoyed our stay at the King William IV guest house immensely. Settle is such a nice, walkable town. The guest house is perfectly located to walk everywhere Plus a launderette just 3 doors away (which we needed). The hosts were available to help with our tourist questions and mentioned a few things we hadn't known about. One of my favorite shaowers of the holiday. We would happily return.

Warm welcome from friendly hosts, lovely rooms and breakfast, great location. Our second stay, would definitely go back. Loads of great walks without needing a car and some nice places to eat and drink nearby.

Lovely room , friendly hosts , very central but relaxing, great breakfast , walks from the door , good facilities on the doorstep . We stayed in fuggles room and the jacuzzi bath was very welcome after our long walk

Lovely stay in the extremely dog friendly room on the ground floor. Delicious breakfast made with top quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. Hosts are very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

This was a great place to stay for walking in the Settle area. The owners are friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast - fresh and high quality food. Lovely room - the jacuzzi bath was great after a day's walking

I stayed in mid September 2023 for a few days as a lone traveller and found Chris and Jackie very hospitable, warm and friendly and had lots of helpful advice about the area and this made me feel very relaxed and welcomed and I enjoyed the stay there very much. The room was very clean, bright and nicely decorated and the bathroom attractive, it even had a Jacuzzi bath! The room was at the front road side and still very quiet and its windows had secondary glazing, plus it was nice and warm. The guest house is perfectly situated in the town centre, just off the main central street, so nice and quiet, and only a short 6 minute walk from Settle train station and 3 minute walk to the local bus stop and the tourist information office is very close too. There are lots of local pubs and eateries for lunch or dinners, and a co-op supermarket just a 3 minute walk away if you need any supplies. It's a perfect base if you want to hike or bike the local area or if you want to get the train or bus to other places on away day trips. The breakfast there was high quality. I had some cereals and then a nice full English breakfast with coffee and toast after. All was very nicely cooked with quality ingredients and enough to keep me going hiking the beautiful local area for a good length of time. I would definitely stay there again and I was touched with Chris and Jackie's amazing hospitality and quality breakfasts and the guest house is in a very choice position which is convenient and a peaceful location.…

Friendly welcome from Jackie and Chris. Comfortable accomodation for a wheelchair user and partner in ground floor Black Sheep room. Excellent home-cooked breakfasts with an impressive choice. An unexpected choice of a morning newspaper brought a flashback to past times and a was a joy to read throughout the day. Thankyou for a relaxing stay.

We had a very pleasant 3 night stay in a perfectly located guest house. Our hosts were very welcoming and full of local knowledge and enthusiasm for the walks we had planned. We had everything we needed and beautifully clean. Jackie and Chris very friendly and helpful and advised us of places to eat and visit. Breakfast very good with amazing homemade bread and jam made by Jackie.
