We stayed at Melrose for a few days earlier this month,& enjoyed our stay. It's well situated, just a pleasant walk from the town centre,& you can park outside the B&B using the permit provided. The hosts were welcoming, our room was pleasantly decorated & the bed was comfy. There's plenty of choice for breakfast & the food was fresh,...

Forth visit to Melrose and the standards keep improving. Stayed in room 2, modern 4 poster bed, super decoration, olde world Christmas feel to the decorations. Breakfast kippers were amazing, cooked to perfection. See you again next year.

Emma and David were great hosts. Made us very welcome from the outset. The guest house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The cooked breakfast was very good and plentiful. Easy five-minute walk into town, where we enjoyed great restaurants and a terrific atmosphere. To say nothing of the beautiful town and scenery in the winter sunshine. A lovely weekend.

Emma and Dave have got it all sorted. From a very friendly welcome (and we were let in early on arrival), through the smart and comfortable rooms to the tasty and very filling brekkie, everything was spot-on. Thanks both. Nick and Liz in Shrewsbury.

We have stayed in a number of guest houses in Whitby over the years and this is probably the best. Our room was a good size with a view along the road to the sea. The breakfast room was very cheerful and the food really good. We stayed for a birthday weekend and when the owners realised, they left a...

While traveling to Western Ross and visiting Propagansey in Old Stephen's Church near Robin Hood's Bay we booked this B&B. On arrival we were presented a nice mug full of coffee, which we appreciated very much. Dave and Emma are nice people. Just outside the center, parking permit, nice rooms and in our case we had a little balcony. We...

This is our third visit to the Melrose. As always everything was perfect. The rooms are clean, comfortable, modern and plenty of space. The owners are lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent! It is approx 10 minutes walk into town so parking isn't an issue (free parking permit included) plus nice and quiet at night. Definitely recommended.
