We stayed for one night room only basis. Check in very smooth, we had room 1 on first floor. The room was large and very clean. In addition to a very comfy king size bed there was also a leather sofa. En-suite bathroom was very clean. Tea / coffee available.
Location was excellent for Whitby town centre (approx 5 min walk away)
We parked in Silver St car park although the owner does have permits available for on street parking.
We would definitely stay here again on return visits to Whitby.

Myself and my patner stayed here on Saurday night after booking last minute.
We were greeted by a lovely, friendly gentleman who gave us our key.
We were on the top floor in a beautiful attic room.
The room and ensuite were very spacious and extemely clean.
The bed was very comfortable and we felt completely safe during these uncertain times.
Hudson is in a good location as only 5 mins walk to the centre.
We highly recommend this place and would return in a heartbeat.

We have a the best 4 day at no. 30. It was a special birthday and all our family and friends could stay in the same house. The bedroom are lovely with lovely pillows and comfy beds all with on suits. The kitchen is fabulous with everything you could need. The outside area was fantastic it was a little sun trap with plenty of seating for everyone. It was spotlessly clean would highly recommend this holiday home. The whole booking went very smoothly with excellent communication thank you for more wonderful memories

Let's get this clear. This is not a hotel. It's a B and B and a poor one at that. I'm flabbergasted at the 5 star reviews on here. What hotel serves breakfast in the hosts front room?! We booked a premier sized room at £98. The room is no bigger than any others I've stayed in in that location in Whitby. It's quite tastefully decorated with a huge silver mirror but that's about the only positive thing I can come up with.

If you read my other reviews on here, you'll see I rarely give a bad review so I'm not nitpicking. For this price I expected so much more. The room was freezing when we got there and didn't get much warmer throughout our stay. The radiator was ineffective and noisy, despite being turned on full. The wifi works when it wants to. I read on a previous review about someone saying the mattress hurt their hips. How I laughed. I apologise because it was the hardest mattress I've ever slept on. No memory foam here.

The room was dirty. My wife, when unpacking, put some trousers on the window ledge, picked them up later and they were filthy, covered in dust. The bathroom is very small. It's little things like only two tiny, cheap shower products in the bathroom, one packet of biscuits between us (whoopee, a biscuit each), plastic cups in a polythene bag for water(what? No bottled water?), no heated towel rail, the clock didn't work and the shower was weak. There are blinds at the window so it's very light when the sun comes up.

As for breakfast, it's okay. I've had bigger, better and certainly, hotter ones. It's also advertised as a room with Victorian features. Unless they were under the bed, I didn't spot any. Again, someone else had reviewed saying that the hosts were "flat". I totally agree. At no point were we asked if anything was okay. If they'd asked this morning, I would certainly have said but they didn't seem bothered. I'd still be stood there now listing the complaints. There's hardly any interacting with customers at breakfast, it's a pretty bleak affair.

If I'm paying £98 for a room, I expect way better than this. There are cheaper and much, much better B and B's in Whitby that this. Can I suggest a uniform of a mask, stripey jumper and a bag with swag written on it?

We booked a room on the first floor and stayed one night. Hudson's is situated in a terraced street with many B&Bs and not a match with the boutique style impression created by the web site. This impression is further enhanced by trip adviser rating (no2) under trip adviser best hotels in Whitby. The billboard outside refers to Hudsons as a B&B but the 'book online' states "As one of the central hotels in Whitby...."
Parking issues not made clear enough on website. Parking outside Hudson's is restricted. A disc allows 2 hours free parking ( not sure where you pick these up from) after which we were told we could purchase a car parking permit @ £3 or use a car park nearby @ £6. There is free parking at the top of street outside the disc zone if you can find a space.
Axminster patterned stairway carpet not in keeping with the contemporary style the owners appear to be seeking to create.
Room no 4 is quiet, it being situated at the rear of the property. The room is small, no room for a chair and even with window open had a strange odour. TV screen very small, plastic cups a let down. Poky bathroom though very clean. Small soft white bath towels. Sink very small causing water to spill to the floor. Corner unit with 3 glass shelves to perch toilet bag in bathroom. The bathroom light and extraction fan had a 'mind' of their own and started up periodically throughout the night, waking us up. When in the shower and sometimes on the WC, the light went out (no window in bathroom). We found the bed comfortable but the bedding felt clammy - due to the polyester protective covers on the mattress, duvet and pillow cases. Unfortunately the promised comfort of crisp Egyptian cotton bedding was spoilt for us by the latter. Cotton protective covers (ikea do them) would resolve this problem. The room was clean and restful with none of the tasteless prints on the walls that are often found. The artificial flowers perched between the towels lent a tacky feel as did the cheap polyester cushion on the bed. Full English Breakfast was tasty and plenty of fresh fruit. All in all, an average B&B.

We booked a premium room at £98/night B&B. I didn't mind paying the extra because it looked really nice on the website, and it was only a 2 night stay for our wedding anniversary.
The room was nice and reasonably large, although we have had as large for much less expensive. I didn't take body wash because I felt sure at that price toiletries would be provided. Unfortunately there was only 2 very small soaps, and no shampoo, so we had to go shopping.
On the second day no cups were left in the room and no hand towel. The king size bed looked attractive but had a hard mattress so I didn't sleep well
The breakfast was very good, but the dining room was floor to ceiling dark brown giving it a depressing feeling. The house also needed some background warmth to take the chill off. I was cold whilst having breakfast. However, the room had a heater so that was OK.
Laura and Mark were friendly but unfortunately our overall impression was that it is overpriced and not really to our taste. When staying in Whitby we will try somewhere else next time.

We booked 2 nights at Hudsons because of the great reviews on TripAdvisor.

I have mixed feelings about the visit; the location is good, the building is interesting, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was very good.

But we were given a small room on the attic floor which has a roof beam running through it. So you can't actually move on one side of the room without ducking around this large piece of wood at chest or head height.

That is not restful. Especially if you might walk into it in the middle of the night; good job we don't sleepwalk!

I can understand why people have left good reviews for Hudsons, and I can imagine with a different room, I might have left one too.

So I might stay there again; but not in Room 12.

I stayed here when I was working in the area. The room was comfortable. The owners were really friendly and the breakfast was very good. The only slight issue was when using the bathroom, there was a light which had an automatic cut off so it went pitch black every couple of minutes and you had to wave your hands around to restart it. This was an issue when in the shower or using the loo.
In summary, the good points outweighed any negative.
