We stayed for 3 nights in the Premier suite (room 7) & it was everything we had hoped for. Absolutely perfect for a romantic break. The freestanding bath looked out to the sea & the church filled our view at the other end of the room. The separate en-suite shower room had a rainfall shower & was filled with beautiful toiletries. Super fluffy towels & dressing gowns added luxury. The room was extremely spacious, beautifully decorated & had everything needed for a fabulous getaway. Be aware though you do have to climb a lot of stairs to get to this little beauty. It’s not for the faint-hearted!! The check in / door entry system was easy to navigate & we had a permit ticket for street parking. We didn’t have much of a problem finding a space but I would imagine this might be more problematic in peak season. Breakfast consisted of juices, cereals, fruit, yoghurt & a cooked breakfast with specials being offered every morning (smoked salmon, pancakes etc). It was delicious & plentiful. What more could anyone want. Sophie & her team were super helpful & friendly. This B&B is superbly situated with less than 10 mins walk to the harbour. We ate in 3 different restaurants (all walking distance) & I’m happy to recommend every one of them. Trenchers (fish & chips), Crocodile (small plates & Tapas) & Costa Nostra (Italian). We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back. Many many thanks

Checking in was so easy with a code supplied for the door on arrival. The location of the Belfry is perfect just a couple of minutes walk from the sea front and also very close to the town and harbour area.
The room was lovely and clean with a very comfy bed and very clean bathroom with shower. During our stay our remote control stopped working and we left a note for housekeeping, it was immediately rectified with a smiley face on the request note we had left, nice touch.
Breakfast was very good with a lovely English Breakfast available alongside a daily special including things like Bagels with scrambled egg, Pancakes, and eggs benedict to name a few. This was a nice touch as a alternative to always having a breakfast and extra items could be added to these alternative dishes.
The staff were very friendly, and knowledgeable on the local area suggesting possible days out.
There is permit parking only but on arrival you are given permits so display in your car which is a nice touch and while we were staying there was plenty of parking spaces.
All in all one of the best B&B's we have stayed in.
Whitby and the surrounding area is lovely and we will be back :)

We don’t often write reviews, but when you’ve had exceptional, and I mean exceptional customer service, then we feel it should be rewarded.
Booking in process and key collection was simple and straightforward.
Car parking outside the hotel is at a premium, but we did manage to find a slot very close to the hotel. A parking permit was provided by the hotel.
Room, which was in the roof (number 8), was clean and well decorated with a plush carpet and superb fixture and fittings. The automated blind was a welcome addition. Views of church outside but able to open windows, drop blind and have fresh air in the room.
Bathroom was exceptionally clean on arrival and remained clean throughout our three night stay.
A cooked breakfast served from 8.30 was of sheer quality. Filtered coffee on the table and a good array of cereals and juices readily available. Breakfast room was very clean.

Excellent stay at The Belfry. Situated in an ideal location close to beach, harbour and shops. Phill & Sophie provide an impressive full English breakfast each morning. Found street parking easy (maybe we got lucky), you pick up a street parking permit on arrival. Rooms are kept clean with tea & coffee etc topped up every day. Would definitely recommend a stay at The Belfry when visiting Whitby.

Our friends & I stayed at the Belfry, which we found Excellent! Modern, friendly, clean, warm & a welcoming B & B on the 22nd May 2024. The bedrooms have everything you need, space, lovely tea’s, great hot chocolate & coffee, white fluffy towels & crisp white sheets. We found it so comfy & quiet, we had the best night sleep for a long time. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice of cereals, fruit, & anything you like as a full breakfast, nothing was too much for this lovely couple & their staff. We highly recommend it.

From the warmest of welcomes, to the beautiful modern and spotless room, this was a truly lovely place to stay for our three nights in Whitby. The hosts laid a table for 4 for breakfast, which was a very nice gesture, the breakfasts were delicious, with a special on each day. I can recommend the scrambled egg with smoked salmon, and eggs benedict! An excellent choice of cereals, with a gorgeous mixed berry compote or grapefruit to begin with, and as much toast as you liked. Comfy mattresses, clean white cotton sheets, fluffy towels and Sea Kelp toiletries in the en-suite. What more could you ask for? I can highly recommend The Belfry as a great place to stay in Whitby

We had full instructions on entering the property as the owners were away on their family holiday. As soon as we stepped through the door we were impressed by the quality and cleanliness of the property. Our room was immaculate, modern and well furnished and spacious. It had a great selection of drinks and biscuits the kingsize bed was very comfortable and we had good pillows. The bathroom had some bathroom essentials and smelt very nice and the shower was great and easy to control. The towels were soft and although we were limited to a few towels we could understand the owners Ethos behind this to keep costs down. We were looked after very well every morning by the staff when we had breakfast of which were a great choice of pretty much everything hot & cold. The rooms were looked after during our stay and tea & coffee were topped up if needed.

The Belfry is an excellent guest house. The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable and the breakfasts are delicious with everything you could wish for including fresh fruit and daily specials. The hospitality tray was filled up every day and there was also fresh milk available in the fridge in the guest lounge. Sophie and Phil are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Sometimes when travelling you come across accommodation that’s a real Jen. This is one of those. The room was bright, warm and very comfortable. All decor very tastefully done and the whole room including the en-suite bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was provided in the morning by the lovely hosts who made everyone feel so welcome and couldn’t do enough. Would highly recommend the Belfry and will stay there again next time I’m in Whitby.
