Arundel House is a beautiful Georgian manor house boasting private off street parking and also a fully licensed bar. It has recently been taken over by the Booth family who are currently in the process of renovating and modernising the property. The majority of the rooms have views of the Abbey and Pannet Park.It is ideally located for Whitby town centre which is only a 5 minute walk away. Our comfortable rooms, each of which is dedicated to a prominent character from local history, are all en-suite and have television and hospitality trays. For that special occasion we have the superior Sutcliffe room and we also have twin and single rooms. We offer an excellent choice of breakfast including vegetarian option, famous locally smoked kippers, or to set you up for the day our hearty English breakfast.

Detailed Reviews
Despite COVID-19 the Arundel House Hotel was to the usual high standard. Breakfast was excellent and the system of pre-ordering worked well. The Team were happy to help with fresh towels and teas/coffee's to be used in bedrooms, as they were unable to carry out the usual daily service. We felt very self and as usual were given a very warm welcome.

We had a lovely three night stay at Arundel House in Whitby in early November 2021. We managed to grab a parking space on site and checked in to the Stoker Room located on the top floor with a fantastic view of Whitby Abbey. Arundel House is one of those old yet beautiful, traditional houses perfectly modernised and decorated to suit all tastes. We were impressed with the Stoker Room, and even more impressed by Scotts fantastic full English breakfasts which are perfectly proportioned and taste great. You can tell he uses only the best products. Scott is one of the kindest, most genuine proprietors you will ever meet. He is so happy and characterful and made us feel very special throughout our stay, always taking the time to talk to us. It has been such a stressful year so to visit Whitby, our favourite of all places on earth, and to have such a fantastic place to stay really was a treat and stood out from the rest of our past visits over the years. We will definitely be staying at Arundel House again and would recommend a visit in early November when everything is still open with an amazing atmosphere but without families/kids mincing about the streets so you can get a table or a drink anywhere you like!
Looking forward to our visit again in 2022!

We stayed here for 3 days, very close to city centre, room was immaculate although bathrooms walls did need updating as the wallpaper was starting to come away.
The only fault I had was 1st day I said no black pudding but I got it and the same for the day after .
For the 3rd day I requested extra toast but I did not get this , but they were little minor things.
Hosts were lovely and would definitely recommend.

We spent two days here in July with our spaniel and were highly impressed. The host was fantastic, breakfast superb and the location is perfect. There was always parking available and dogs were made to feel welcome (doggy breakfast) and fair house rules ensures they didn't interfere with other guests. They're doing a great job at following social distancing policies too.

Just home after a two night stay, having spent one night here nearly two years ago. The location is great being a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Whitby.
Lovely room with a comfortable four poster bed (Sutcliffe room) on the ground floor. Great shower with good towels and basic shower toiletries provided.
Excellent breakfasts on both mornings, all set up for our time slot (either 8.30 or 9.30am). Friendly and personable service.
Will return next time to stay in Whitby.

We just spent one night here and so wish that we could have stayed for longer.
We arrived early but they were happy for us to leave our bags which they put in our room had been serviced.
It’s a 10 minute walk to the town centre, so very well located as it’s away from the busyness of town but still so convenient.
We returned to the hotel quite early in the evening and sat out in the rear garden where the sone of the house, Spencer came out to light the patio heater and chatted to us for a while; what a delightful boy he is, so polite and a credit to his parents.
Scott also joined us for quite some time and it was an enjoyable evening.
We had room 10; which is a ground floor family room, king bed which was super comfy and a single bed. Plenty of drawer and wardrobe space, a lovely en suite, a very good hospitality tray, all in all, a perfect room.
Breakfast was delicious, social distancing was really well observed, great service and good value for money.
We would highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again when we visit Whitby again.
Thanks to you all at Arundel House.

First time at this B&B
Location is great a short walk no more than 5 minutes to the centre of town, parking wise the BnB has some spaces while parking on adjacent streets was not a problem.
Room was spotless, bed very comfy and the bathroom was a good size (Pannet Room).
Breakfast was of good quality and tasty with lots of options.
BnB also has a bar for few swift ones before you go out!
Host are very welcoming and friendly and this is one of the best BnB 's we have stayed at in Whitby and will definitely be back.

Upon arrival perfect spot for parking the car, greeted by the owner & checked in with the minimum of fuss, great idea to order breakfast in advance along with the preferred sitting time.
Location perfect just a short walk to the harbour front & attractions.
Room(Captain Cook) was a perfect double for an overnight stay, very clean & comfortable & very good value for money.
Breakfast was delightful & very tasty.
