Went to York to celebrate our wedding anniversary’s,. Site clean, well maintained and showers in a little type courtyard (looked clean but we didn’t use them) bus stop right outside the site, they are a bit hit and miss as to whether they run on time. York was busy but really enjoyed our stay and did the usual tourist stuff.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Its in a great place to see all the sites in and around York. There is a bus stop right outside the site that goes into the centre. We drove in and managed to park really easily - £7.50 for 3 hours. York itself is a nice City and the river trips at 1 hour give you a different perspective. The site is really well spaced out and every pitch is large and fully serviced. The showers are huge and have a toilet and basin in as well. They are also ones that you put on and they stay on with out the annoying button that you have to press on some to keep the water flowing! The site was nicely maintained and VERY clean. There is a security barrier at the entrance. There is a huge retail park just up the road. We went to a market at Malton that is on the second Saturday of each month and picked up some really different food things. Benningborough Hall is also nice for a day trip. We took our dog and walked round the grounds for miles and then went for lunch at the NT cafe on site. Food was lovely but for two mains (club sandwich and a burger) and two puds (brownie and bakewell tart) plus a couple of drinks £45 seemed a bit pricy. The staff were very friendly and its certainly a site that we will come back to.

We were lucky to get a space here, totally spotless and heated toilets and showers, very friendly staff, and dog friendly, they even helped us get a space in their sister campsite for our return journey as they were fully booked. Will definitely revisit this site

Only our second trip out in our new van. Couldn't of picked a better site. Pitches big and well laid out with privacy hedges between pitches. Washroom facilities immaculate and although in one block all are private. Welcoming and helpful staff. A real gem for peace and quiet but great location to explore the area. York only 15mins by bus from outside the campsite main gate. Loved our 3 night stay and weather was fantastic. Experienced caravaners we spoke to seem to have it on their shortlists as a regular top site to visit. Not surprised it is 5 star location. Highly recommend.
