We stayed there around Easter time when going to visit our daughters, who study at the University of York. Let me just say that we were only booked for approximately four days, but what a miserable, horrific, awful four days it was in this place. It was definitely not as advertised, and I would warn you away from the pictures...

Stayed 2 nights in one of the rooms on the 1st floor. Room was clean enough. No shower curtain though which meant having to angle the shower so not to soak the floor. Nice big TV beds very comfy. No noise on the Friday night from the pub below, sat could hear people partining till around 1.30am but nothing major....

I have been to York several times and always find that accommodation is very expensive. I found this place by chance online and the price seemed very reasonable for a Saturday stay over. When we arrived we weren't sure we had found the right place as there is no sign just a door however we called the owner and he...

Good points were central location, free parking, minutes walk away from key places. Staff were all friendly and quickly replaced broken TV and provided us with a fan. However the bad, the mattresses were so soft you could feel the springs, they really do need to invest in new mattresses. The shower still had previous persons belongings and evidence it...

To be fair, when I saw the description on booking.com it did say it was in a 'lively area'. The Waterfront is at the end of a grubby side street, right by the river. There's a pub below it and another opposite and a night club (Stone Roses) further up the street. We stayed on a Friday and Sat night...

THIS IS NOT A HOTEL! Arrived at the Waterfront, found it easy enough, with help of a satnav. Pulled up outside on yellow lines, knocked on door, to be met by owner, very friendly chap, was allowed to park up and unload without getting a ticket, no problem. No parking so best/closest parking was 5 mins away at St Georges...

First things first this is not a hotel as such more serviced rooms I would say - so there are no staff, no bar or restaurant facilities. Having said that if you are like us we rock up to the place drop our bags and head straight out on the razzle returning to sleep and doing the same again so...

The location is amazing. the view from the room was the highlight. All major attractions are within a few minutes walk. Private check-in facility and friendly staff. On the downside the hotel doesn't have WiFi , and its a bit expensive.

This is a very characterful hotel ideally located right in the centre of York, on the Waterfront (believe it or not). It was quite tricky to find at first but it's in a great place, the owner was very nice and welcoming too. I thought it was slightly pricey at the £120 that we paid for room only, however I...
