Been before and always like to stay in the comforts of the hostel. Friendly staff to help with your needs and requests. Good helping at breakfast not like other hostels where they are usually poor and little to eat. Great location for all the travelling backpackers and alike. Ideal for honeymooners, school trips as got private rooms for them.

Just 5 min walk from the train station with walking distance to the city centre. The room for 8 people are huge, just the toilet is small inside the room. Staff is friendly and breakfast is reasonable

Beautiful and comfortable building, I felt so comfortable there. My tip is bring your own padlock as the cages to keep your stuff doesn´t contain. Bedroom were small but comfortble. Bathroom was ok but if they had screen instead of curtains should be better and mat as well because after having a shower was a little mess

This property felt like I was sharing a fancy hotel with friends rather than staying in a hostel. The location is convenient as well - it's near plenty of restaurants, very close to the town wall, and just a short walk to main attractions such as York Minster.

A great hostel with polite and kind staff. It had all required for a touristic trip to York, bed was comfortable and the room was very cozy and worm. Toilets are not very big but that's not an issue. All in all - I'll reccomend it deffinitelly

Comfortable beds and good that the bed was already made . rooms were warm and cosy. The only concern was if taking a longer shower I was worried about flooding the room as drainage wasn't great in room 6 bathroom but otherwise the hostel was great and a few minutes walk to the station and into town so very well...

The hostel is really good. The room was clean and with enough space, it was a little bit cold in the night. The persona was very kind and helpful. The location is perfect, near the the center and the main atractions!

Hi Camp 358, Thank you for your kind comments regarding the staff. All the bathrooms have individual heaters for the showers, possible that yours had a fault which we are able to sort out fairly quickly when informed of a problem at the time. Safestay Hostels are not self catering, and especially York that is situated in a Grade 1...

This was our 1st time in a hostel and we were pleasantly surprised! The building is huge and right in the centre of the town! There was a group of 6 of us staying in a 6 bed room on new years eve. 1st of all the price was very cheap compared to other places in the area and we...

Hi Thank you for staying with us over the New Year, and hope that York gave you a great night out. Also a great thank you for your lovely review of you stay with us and for sharing it. The hostel is as you know a listed building and it has restricted the number of power points in some rooms....
