Stayed over for 2 nights. Lovely room, nice (not hard bed) and clean linens. Pub is lovely. We ate the first night we got there- there's only burgers, but they were delicious and the chips were spot on. Had several different beers and ciders. Staff on both days were friendly with good humour. Will definitely be staying here in future...

While visiting York recently we stayed at the Waggon and Horses - It's a relatively easy walk into the city from here and there is a good selection of proper beer if you don't fancy the walk. Bedroom we had was spacious and perfect for what we needed. Bed was king size and very comfortable, everything seemed clean and tidy....

I had a great overnight stay here! The staff were lovely, the beer was great and the burger was humongous and very tasty! My room was clean and cozy and very good value. Breakfast also hit the spot! I would stay here again, no problem.

I stayed for 2 nights as I was running in the York marathon. Room 3 was a good size, very light and bright and everything was very clean. The shower was powerful and hot and the bed comfortable.Yes there is some noise from outside as the window is single glazed but I didn't find it a problem. All the staff...

We have just spent three very enjoyable nights at the Waggon and Horses. The pub is a real ale drinkers dream. There is plenty of choice and all beers kept to a very high standard. They also sell a number of premium largers so if that's your tipple you are well catered for. It's a busy pub which is a...

The Waggon and Horses is a true community pub, in the sense that you know that they consider their regulars like family. Has a bar billiards team and really nice well-priced burgers on offer. Nothing particularly special but always happy to drink there.

This is a small pub with rooms and a little car park within walking distance of the city centre. My room was smallish with an en suite but sufficient for a one night stay. The bar soon filled with regulars and they do serve simple food in the evening but most go into York to sample the eating houses there.

Staff friendly. Rooms clean and adequate. Evening menu limited but delicious. Kindly given breakfast basket to take out as I left before breakfast-quality and plenty!! Is on noisy road with no double glazing but did not bother me Parking in rear yard can be tight and a bit of car movement required but bar manager kindly took care of this!!
