My partner and I decided to stay here after reading some reviews online. We've never stayed in a hostel before and if they are all like this we'd be happy to stay in one again. This place is faultless, very clean and plenty of amenities. We had an en suite room that was lovely and warm and comfortable. We will...

A quirky up scale hotel in the centre of York. Excellent value, would use them again. I have recommended to family and friends for when they visit. A nice mix of high end hostel services for back packers and ensuite rooms for visitors.

Second time I am going to the Fort Boutique. Really like the settings, the hostel is in the heart of York, bars, shops, restaurants are next door. The bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen and very very clean and well maintained. The kitchen / social area is very convenient, there is all you need to cook, store your food, washing machine, iron...

noisy..... just a boutique dump...... sorry to say. Nice enough rooms, but noisy, couldn't sleep until three in the morning. A man stood in the door of my colleague's room in the middle of the night, not secure , not safe....

The staff are friendly, the hostel is clean and well looked after, But it's so noisy, there's a bar underneath and the music can be heard clearly in the hostel. The beds were also very uncomfortable. Guests get a discount at the bar below if they buy food there. The breakfast was good but it didn't make up for the...

trip was pants, lack of atmosphere, hardly a 'boutique' and incompetent staff. cold, expensive for what it was. We were left waiting for 25 minutes just to check in, there wasn't 'useful, information about York. One positive was the location.

Stayed here for a birthday celebration. Met with 7 friends from across the UK and for a room for the 8 of us it was £200. We were really impressed by the size of the beds and the cleanliness. The kitchen was fab free hot drinks and cordials for helping cure your hangover the next day. The bar with mirrors...

“Only one thing to remember, if you want to check on before 8:00 a.m, remember to get your key deposit back on the night before. It is written in the guidance but I didn't notice. However, the hostel sent me the key deposit to my bank account. It's an awesome place to stay. I love the room, kitchen and everything.”
