Just returned from a lovely weekend break for mums birthday. Couldn’t really fault the hotel, nice rooms, lovely large comfy beds and fluffy pillows, really powerful shower! Tasty breakfast with lots of choices. Friendly staff especially Mark who kept us entertained . He even helped us load all of our luggage into the car at the end of our stay! Cheers Mark. 🌟…
We stayed one night last week. Booked two 'lodge rooms'. Big rooms, poorly laid out. Heavy fire door between bedroom and area for making tea/coffee. No water supply to this area so whole thing inconvenient and unnecessary. Windows single glazed and no heating in bathroom. Weather was nice last week but bathroom really cold. When we arrived there were tools in the bath and we were told they were replacing silicone. They apologised. The fan in the bathroom was extremely noisy, as if something was broken in it. I complained and was told it had been fixed. It hadn't! Then the remote control for the TV/radio stopped working. I borrowed the one from the other room. When I reported these things in the morning, I got another apology but nothing else. A discount off breakfast might have been nice as they charge £9.99 for a fairly standard offering. This place is low average and definitely not more than 2 star. Service is a bit amateurish.…
What a lovely hotel this is, in a beautiful old building. It seems to have been fully refurbished to a high standard. From the moment we walked in I was impressed. The small bar area is stylish and has a nice atmosphere and ambience as is the lounge area with the wood panelling and high ceiling. We were very pleased with the room the hotel gave us and I m sure it was an upgrade, huge with a seating area with velvet sofas and chairs. Bathroom was fitted with a huge walk-in shower. Other little touches were the Nespresso coffee maker, biscuits and bottles of water. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.…
Stayed for a couple of nights here. Service excellent, food very good, decor superb. Loved the lights outside each room, the decor in the room and in particular the bathroom (tiles) and in the bar and restaurant. Lovely stay.
Stayed two nights in this hotel got a great deal it included evening meal on the first night. The menu was limited but really nice. Our room was lovely had a boutique feel about it on the small side but enough room for two. Bathroom was beautiful and clean. Shower nice and hot did wish for a bath but it was fine. Fridge stocked with water a can of pop and kitkat, which was a nice touch Short walk into town a bus journey cost £1 to £2.50 each depending on which bus you get on. Hotel bar was very cosy and not too expensive. We got breakfast each morning cooked or buffet with plenty of choice and high tea between 2-4pm, to be honest I was expecting little sandwiches maybe a glass of prosecco but we got tea/coffee and a scone which was delicious and very filling. Would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay in the future…
"We understand all rooms are well appointed now refurbishment is nearly complete, we can only say that the actual Hotel side was fabulous."Read full review
