Stayed here with my husband for my birthday on 28th April. After reading recent reviews I was very worried how we would find the hotel in regards to the rooms. I couldn't be happier to report our room a superior room in the courtyard was extremely clean, more or less brand new throughout with nice touches, fridge with juice n...

Stayed here for one night over Easter with friends. It was once a private residence now alovey hotel with a gothic interior. The bar area and lounge are indicative of a time gone by. Our bedroom was a little tired decor wise, could do with a wash and brush up, however it was comfortable and clrean, can't ask for more...

Me and my partner booked this hotel on the basis that it was relatively close to the town centre and train station, and since we were only staying the one night we werent too fussed about the cost. Absolutely should have been, granted this is not the most expensive hotel we have ever stayed, but it certainly is the most...

Stayed here for 1 night and wanted to leave as soon as I got here! Rooms reminded me of an old people's home! Had no sleep due to constant banging and awful beds, I would never recommend this hotel. Stay elsewhere!!

Me and my boyfriend checked in the Elmbank hotel on Saturday 15th April we arrived to find there was very limited parking spaces. When we got the keys to our room we were in the lodge across from the hotel. we entered the room to find the carpet stained all over. The lights were flickering for a few moments when...

I was really looking forward to visiting York as we had never been, the Hotel is very well located - that is all. There was nowhere to park on arrival, the sullen accented chap on reception when we checked in dismissively directed us to parking somewhere half a mile away. Inside the building was very dingy and poorly lit and...

I was very nervous about staying here after reading all the reviews. I personally think these are a bit harsh. The first impressions of this hotel are very nice. The main hotel corridors look like they are in the process of being decorated, the bar is quaint and very friendly. I cannot comment on the food as we didn't eat...

Absolutely disgusting. The room I stayed in was cold and damp. Bathroom was tiny, and covered in mould/damp. The washbasin in the bedroom can only be described as a health hazard, and in a real state of disrepair. Carpet in the room was covered in stains, and areas of damp. Carpet in the corridors was held together by gaffer tape....

“Stay elsewhere.”
  • Really mucky and displays a real lack of customer care
  • Grubby and lack of attention to detail.
