There’s no other city in Britain quite like historic York. And we like to think there’s no other place to stay there quite like Roomzzz – a riverside location with 97 striking serviced apartments. Think bold and spacious studios, many with balconies or floor to ceiling windows, and views over the River Ouse or Rowntree Park. Roomzzz York offers accommodation with free WIFI. Accommodation is fitted with air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchenette, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with shower, free toiletries and a hairdryer. A fridge, a dishwasher and stovetop are also offered, as well as a kettle. Don’t forget our Complimentary Grab & Go Croissant is also included to shake up your wake up! Beyond your apartment there’s a free to use gym, comfortable social lounge and Pantry coffee shop, serving fresh coffee, cakes and sandwiches. Nestled by a tranquil riverside, Roomzzz York City invites guests to enjoy scenic strolls to the heart of York. The hotel's offerings, including well-appointed kitchens and plush beds, are lauded by guests, as are the complimentary treats like coffee and croissants. While the service generally receives high marks for being attentive, there have been occasional lapses.
Reviewers celebrate the spotless modernity of the rooms, although opinions on value diverge with some discontent around extra costs. The overall inviting ambiance, complemented by the picturesque river views, makes for a memorable stay.

We have just had a lovely two night stay here. Amazing staff and so helpful. Room was spotless and spacious, with facilities to cook etc, you also get unlimited coffee from the machine at reception, and a free croissant in the morning. Great start to the day, before venturing into York for a brunch, at one of the many eateries on offer. Defo stay here the next time we are in York!

Booked a 2 night stay in June as part of a deal via It is on. Deal - 2 nights in a studio room for £150 for two adults, including free tea/coffee etc. and a croissant each morning. The hotel offers onsite parking, 2 nights cost £30 which we were happy with considering the saving we got for the stay due to booking via the deal. We had a lovely/enjoyable stay and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in York. The location was perfect, a short walk to main area of York with beautiful scenery along the way as the hotel sits on the canal front. Studio room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Modern décor and facilities. The hotel itself was same as above, beautifully decorated and very inviting. Staff we encountered during check in/out were pleasant and helpful.

We have stayed at Roomzzz in Nottingham previously and thoroughly enjoyed it. We often visit York so thought we would give this one a go. As expected the hotel is very modern and has a contemporary feel. We had booked a river view balcony room. The hotel is situated on the river and is only a short walk into the city centre. Parking is charged as an extra (which we are not a fan off) but is in line with the parking charges in the city. The room itself was large and contained a large TV, sofa, bed and kitchenette. The room was spotless and the kitchenette looked like it had never been used. The kitchenette contained a sink, hob, microwave and dishwasher...along with all the utensils. Breakfast is a 'grab and go' but has everything you could want. Theres also a coffee machine in reception which is available 24/7 and a gym for guests. Our only negatives was that the TV didn't have a lot of the Freeview channels, including BBC1. We did tell the receptionist. She said they were fully aware of the issue but she said the channels are controlled from an outside source and there was nothing they could do. There wasn't a real apology. Our second minor negative was the balcony was really small, so you couldnt take a chair out there and sit on. Apart from that it was a great hotel, with great views and in a brilliant location. Would certainly stay again.

We loved our stay and will definitely return! We’ve stayed in lots of different places and go to York regularly, but this is the place we’ll keep going back to now. The location is perfect- a short walk to the centre, by the river and in a quiet, safe neighbourhood. The accommodation is great- very clean, comfortable and peaceful. Even though they were fully booked, we didn’t hear anyone moving around/ coming and going at night like you would if you stayed in a hotel. We stayed in a little apartment with a mezzanine for the bedroom, which was ideal because we could put our toddler’s cot on the bottom floor and it felt like we were in separate rooms. The little kitchen is ideal for families- really handy having everything we needed there. The room was much more spacious than I was expecting too. A real bonus we got a croissant and coffee each morning too! Thank you for a fabulous mini-break!

I cannot fault this hotel for its location and service. Booked two nights with Itison deal which was an absolute bargain for a weekend stay. Surprised to get a river view but delighted. Ideally positioned close to the town centre (15 min walk) but far enough away from any noise.
I later saw there was a Blue Light Card deal offering a feee pamper pack, chocolates and robes. Messaged guest services on WhatsApp and they added it to my deal. On arrival there was nothing in the room. Asked at reception as we headed out and they said they’d sort it. Came back to some box of cosmetics. No chocolates or robes. No big deal and never bothered chasing it.
Small kitchen is stocked with all you need including fairy and a dishwasher tablet. Cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, kettle and toaster all there if you wanted to cook a basic meal on the two ring job or in the microwave.
My only criticism is parking. £15 per night!! There is parking at the rear and what appeared to be an underground car park therefore ample. I’ve no issues with first come first served either. I was aware in advance and booked a spot at a nearby removal company yard £11 for 48 hrs.

We first got there, and there were spider webs and dust all over the headboard. We reported this, and it was dusted, and we requested for it to be vacuumed, which was no trouble at all for the staff member.
When this was done there was particles and dust all over the bed, I requested new bedsheets and again it was no problem at all, he offered to change it but due to the lost time, I was fine to just do it myself.
Then as we changed the sheets and was about to shower, we noticed the water not going down and the top of the drain floating and not actually stuck down, so I went down to report this again as there seems to be no numbers in the room to dial out. He again was very polite and offered us a room to shower in 2 doors down and proceeded to say we could do what we want with the room which was nice. Unfortunately, the room was full of dust and again the headboard would need cleaning.
During the process of going between rooms we left the key in the other room, so had to go down once again. The room was not clean at all, I will upload the pictures. Lots of dirt and dust, the soap dispenser had brown stuff inside, so not very clean. They seem to refil them but not clean them.
The grab and go area is useful but quite small. About 2 people can stand there and block the whole thing which happened in our case and we had a little bit of a wait. When I advised the manager of some of the issues again she was very apologetic and gave us a partial refund, however, overall, I still think I was over charged and didnt get anywhere near what I thought I was paying for, putting strain and time constraints on the whole trip

We arrived early to get parking, and paid in full for both room & parking. As the room wasn’t ready we weren’given a key which was fine as checkin isn’t til 3pm. We went off for the day and returned at 7.30pm, got our luggage out of the car went to the same entrance we used on arrival to find it locked. I could see there was no one on reception so I rang the hotel twice but only answer phone message and constantly rang the intercom with no reply. It was raining outside so for the next 20 mins we looked around the building to try to find a staff member. After 20 minutes my husband saw a shadow outside the building and asked if she worked at the hotel and explained we couldn’t get in. She said the intercom was broken which we weren’t told on arrival. She led us through what looked like a staff entrance and gave us a key, but if we hadn’t seen her we could have been sleeping in our car all night for £170. Then in the morning I went to get breakfast and all there was was dry croissants no juice, butter, jam, fruit which they used to have (we’ve stayed in a number of Roomzz) all the receptionist said was no sorry! Not good enough we won’t be staying at the Roomzz chain again I’m afraid

Our second stay at Roomzzz York. Very good value for spacious accommodation with all you would need should you wish to self-cater. Being set on the river the walk into the city is a lovely one. Car parking is available on-site but the hotel is within a mile of the railway station so is easy to access however you travel. On both occasions the room allocated was spotlessly clean, staff helpful and having access to a free coffee/hot drinks station in the foyer is a nice touch. The reception and seating areas are spacious and the shop sells cakes, some food and drinks should you wish. We have been delighted with the service offered, value for money and quality of the accommodation and would definitely stay here again should we return to York.

Really nice hotel!! I really recommend it! The rooms are so so modern and pretty! We had a front river balcony room with a nice view of the river and we stayed for one night on the Monday 25th July.
It was very easy to check in, the receptionists are very nice, kind and helpful. WiFi is very fast, and so easy to connect to.
The king size bed is so comfy, pillows are very soft and the room is very aesthetic, really spacious too. The room is very quiet and I got an amazing sleep. The gym is also very modern with gym machines and a water fountain. There is a 24/7 coffee and water machine too by the reception. The bathroom is ultra modern with a very powerful and hot shower, and a bonus with the white company toiletries. The room has everything you need, and the kitchen is well equipped with cutlery, pans, cups, fridge, freezer, toaster, hob and microwave. The room also has a hairdryer which you can use at any mirror as it isn’t connected to the bathroom which is really good, and an iron. It has a comfy and spacious sofa and a desk as well.
The breakfast in the morning is a grab as you go breakfast with pastries, yogurt, porridge, fruit etc and a selection of drinks in the fridge which is very handy. The reception area is also so pretty and modern with lots of seats to sit in, it’s so modern when you walk in.
The flood works have gone as it was only a 10-15 minute walk into the centre, going down the river and over the bridge, and you’re basically in the city centre. It’s a great location, easy to get to and you can walk to places very quickly from this hotel.
This hotel has everything you need, it’s right in the city centre and a perfect location on the river, I can’t recommend it enough, it doesn’t have any faults and I can’t wait to return! Honestly I recommend this hotel 100%!!

I didn't notice anything about free disabled parking spaces. We paid £15 a night for parking. They do have an underground parking area that has a lift to the reception otherwise you have to drag your suitcases up a flight of steps if you park outside. I would check with the hotel direct.

When the park is open you can cut through there and only a 10/15 min walk. Park closes 10pm if that is the case you have to walk all the way around which is a trek.
There are more places to choose from in the York area.
