This is a great guest house, spotlessly clean, within 10 mins walk of the Minister the same to the station. Rob, the host, is very pleasant and obviously has a wealth of knowledge of the city which he is most happy to share with you. Parking is very easy, close by, which Rob can organise for you on request. We enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked again to go next year.

Stayed here for 1 night as visiting friends. It is very close to the train track but this really was not a problem for us, the owner provides earplugs if you want them! The cleanliness of the room, the great shower and amiable pleasant owner makes the stay lovely! The location to the river makes a beautiful short walk into the city. Breakfast was not provided but it's no problem as so easy to get something in the city such a short walk away. Thank you Rob for providing a lovely room in a great location!

This location was walkably convenient to train, carpark, and St. Mary’s Abbey grounds- right on the river along the Dame Judy Dench pathway. Rob was terrific- so helpful with information, maps, dinner suggestions, etc. Rooms were sparkling and comfortable.

We had such a lovely stay. The owner could not be anymore hospitable or welcoming! He really did help us out with regards to parking, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The Guest House is well situated and sits at the river. Our room had spectacular river views. The room was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfy. York itself is also a beautiful place. We will defo be coming back! Thanks for having us!

My daughter and I had a twin room at the back. Beautifully presented. Fresh milk and water available throughout our time there. Lots of information given on where to have breakfast and other meals. Nothing was too much trouble. There is the main railway line at the side of the property and for light sleepers this might be an issue but did not trouble us unduly. I would thoroughly recommend staying here and I will be returning with my husband.

We are just returning from a 2 night stay at the central guest house. Spotless, large rooms supplied with endless teabags and fresh mik..ran by Rob who was welcoming and incredibly helpful. The guest house is a 5 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute roll into the city centre along the river front. Don’t be deterred by the nearby railway..we didn’t hear a thing! A great price as well..we will certainly come again!

My sister treated me to a few nights away in york and this guest house was just amazing. Perfect location right on the river with amazing views from the bedroom. Lovely and Clean.And the host was just so lovely and helpful. Had cold water waiting for us. Fresh milk in the shared fridge and a little tub so we could keep stuff in the fridge if needed.

Rob was the perfect host, proactive (a HUGE help in planning our restaurants and attractions). He was knowledgeable, making our 2 days in York a pure joy. The guest homes are quaint by the river, clean, whimsical with a great location to the train station and all of the sites in York. Highly recommend staying here if you are coming to York!

Rob is great! Clean, comfortable and well decorated. Highly recommend. No breakfast provided but lots of options in York. Rob can make recommendations. Very close to the rail service and easy access to town.

The Abbey guest house was exactly what we we required for our stay. We brought our bikes which our host happily stored for us safely. So near the cycle routes and amenities. Our room had a perfect river view and extremely comfortable (amazing pillows and showers especially). Everything was so easy .
