Just had our second stay at the Ashberry , lovely new owners . Warm & welcoming , lovely rooms . On a cold wet weekend it was nice to go back to a warm comfortable room . Very well cooked breakfast , although not a big fan of the pre-order system . Will defiantly stay again .

We were down in York for the ice sculpture weekend and our stay at this friendly family run bed & breakfast was the icing on the cake. Lovely spacious first floor bedroom, delicious cooked to order breakfast, hospitality 2nd to none and £50 a night less than what our friends paid at the Premier Inn 250m down the road. Can't recommend highly enough.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay at this friendly bed n breakfast celebrating my wife´s birthday. Our room was number 1 which is actually shown on here, it had the most comfortable matress n pillows I´ve even slept on. It´s not often you get toiletries that aren´t either ´funsize´or attached to the wall which was great. The owners were really obliging and recommended what to see n do and some lovely bars n restaurants to eat. Great room, breakfast, walking distance of town centre, great value for money, a hotel/b&b for under a hundred quid a night, unheard of in York. Can´t recommend highly enough, we´ll be back.

It´s been over a year since we´ve been to York and boy have we missed this lovely friendly lively city. We found this family run bed & breakfast on Tripadvisor and it certainly came up trumps. It´s more boutique than your average B&B with its spotlessly clean warm spacious rooms, friendly owners. great location 10 mins stroll into centre, less than 10 mins from railway station and rates wise 50% less than the Premier Inn 5 mins down the road. Looks like York.s back on our weekend away list again.
