Visited the hotel this weekend and was rather disappointed. The room had no heating on even though its become very cold . The room hadn't been cleaned properly as there was hair all over the hairdryer like someone had shaved on it. The tiles in the bathroom has the orange tinge of body fat on the tiles . I raised the issue with the front of house staff and there response was "thanks for letting us know " . Theres be no way any sort of apology. I've emailed and they haven't responded to my complaint at all . To pay a premium for such a disappointing service is quite disgusting. And to leave your customers actually being beyond cold in the rooms is a joke . If your thinking of staying in york I would not recommend the hotel .

The location is just perfect for a City break .....however the room was small and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned... Really disgusting. The restaurant was farcical. Not particularly busy but so disorganised. We questioned our starter as it didn't look correct....waiter went back to the kitchen and returned insisting it was correct and left them...then another waitress arrived with more starters that were ours! Breakfast was similarly disorganised. Loads of tables awaiting to be cleared, but we were asked to sit in the lounge to wait. I've never heard so many complaints in one hotel. It could be amazing, but it was the worst hotel I've ever experienced.

The room I believed to be a average sized room turned out to be a small dingy stuffy room looked over the back of the railway station. It was overpriced for what we got and the advertising was misleading. Would stay again only if I had 3x the amount of money for expenses and if the room is bigger than what we got this time. I was shocked to pay £23 for 2 alcoholic beverages from the hotel bar. Don't eat or drink in the hotel unless you want to pay a premium for rather basic options.

This hotel is extremely comfortable and conveniently located to tourist sites in the city of York. The beds were just perfect and rooms were spacious. The included breakfast was delicious, especially the granola! Dhini was a sweetheart and served us most graciously for breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel when stopping in York!

My Son and I had to wait for 25 minutes in the waiting area of their restaurant until someone attended us, only to be asked if we had a reservation and be told that the waiting is about half to an hour. If someone promptly came and advised us that the reataurant is fully booked and reservation is necessary, we would totally understand. But being ignored for 25 minutes is totally disgusting. A couple came and queue after us but decided to walk into the restaurant and waited at the bar, got their table after about 5 minutes waiting at the bar. Rubish service! But who cares anyway?? The hotel will never do anything aboit it because what is a review of one customer?

Is there vegetarian option for breakfast
I was disappointed with the vege options, no vegetarian sausages in the buffet. I didn’t however have the time to ask, maybe if I had they would have made me something.

We have a ‘double annex room’ Does anyone have any info on what that is like please?
It seems that Chester is right. However, don’t be too put off by this. The rooms in the main building are normal, rather Spartan looking, with none of the glamour one sees in the main halls and corridors. Just modern hotel rooms. I’d assume it’s no different for the annex. I’d try to change, but do not change hotel, in case of a negative. Too precious to let it go.

Is there a charge for parking if you have a blue badge please
Are the pool and fitness facilities free to use for any of the hotel guests or just those in specific rooms?
I thought the breakfast was good value, as it is a buffet style, so you can have what you want from a wide choice
