Travellers' Choice
Naburn Lock is a friendly, family-owned camping and touring park. Easily accessible from the dual carriageway, it is set in beautiful natural surroundings, close to the River Ouse and the SUSTRANS 65 cycle route. There are 100 grass and hard standing pitches for tents, trailer tents, caravans and motorhomes, with a dedicated adults-only area for those who prefer it. The 30 acre rural site is divided by strategically placed hedgerows to maintain a private and intimate feel, enabling guests to relax and unwind. All pitches have electric hook-up and the site is dog friendly, with 2 large dog walking fields onsite. The on-site shop sells all the basics such as bread, milk, newspapers, ice cream, cakes, canned & frozen food, toiletries etc. River fishing is possible on the river Ouse at the bottom of the campsite, with Salmon and course fishing tickets available at reception. A river boat service runs from March to October, and is a leisurely way to get into the centre of York by river. Alternatively, you can catch the bus from the campsite entrance which takes around 15 mins to get to the city centre. Naburn village pub serves good food every day, and is just a 10 minute walk from the campsite entrance.

Great site for a quiet break, or for trips into York. Easy access to the river for fishing, or the river taxi into York (10 - 15 min drive to the centre) . Friendly and helpful staff. Hope to be back soon.

This is the cleanest and most well kept site we have visited. The warden guided us to our pitch and gave us all the info we needed for our riverboat cruise to York the next morning. The Wardens are fantastic and look after your pitch, high winds whilst we were in York and upon our return the warden popped down to inform us that our airbeam pod had bent over backwards in the high winds and she nearly thought she would have to rescue it but was impressed with it's resilience. Local pub 15 mins walk away and on the Saturday night a visiting pizza van. All in all a top weekend away. Highly recommend 👌

Stayed here for 4 nights recently. Site was easy to find and the check in process straight forward. We were shown to our pitch in the adults area which was fine. Plenty of room for caravan, awning and vehicle. The shower and toilet facilities were kept very clean by the wardens. The site itself was well maintained and clean and tidy. The location is good, walks along the river towards York, easy access to cycle routes and convenient driving distance to supermarkets etc if needed. We are definitely hoping to come back.

Booked 4 nights here and then stayed another 2. Started off on Adult only part them moved to plot 50 due to other bookings. Clean quiet site in lovely surroundings. Nice walks from the site and buses into York every 1.5 hours (except Sunday). Plenty of taxis with too which turn up quickly. Missed pizza van unfortunately as they had sold out. If you wish to be on Adult part beware some of it backs onto a busy main road. Was a fab few days. No loud people or dogs. Bins etc emptied numerous times a day. Didn't use shower facilities so cant comment on that. Be back.
