We were 3 couples staying for 2 nights including New Years Eve. We booked the 3 bedroom apartment which is accessed via the reception. The location is excellent - just a few minutes walk into the city centre. We weren’t disturbed by any noise. The apartment is over 3 floors with identical en-suite bedrooms, 1 on each floor. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms well laid out. The first floor has the kitchen/dining room and the second floor has the lounge. The entire apartment was very nicely decorated and was spotlessly clean. Overall, we were very happy with the apartment and would consider staying here again, however, we thought that sone things could have been much more practical. I don’t want to criticise it too much, but offer the following suggestions for improvement:- 1. Add wardrobes in the bedrooms 2. Install mirrors over the washbasins in the bathrooms. 3. Install a tv in the dining room. 4. Provide a lot more utensils and crockery in the kitchen. 5. Replace the small toaster (2 slices only) and provide a full size fridge/freezer in the kitchen. 6. Consider increasing the size/layout of the kitchen to allow more than 1 person access. A tip for visitors who are staying over the weekend - park at the railway station as it’s only £12 to stay from Friday to Monday and it’s only a 5 minute walk away.

Fabulous stay at the Lawrence apartments. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for New Year's Eve and everything was perfect! The room was immaculate and beautifully decorated with an extremely comfortable bed. Will 100% be returning for another stay! One of the best places we have ever stayed and we travel a lot :)

Tough one this, I have read some of the reviews on here and agree with most of them, good and bad. I have to say it is above average, squeeking toward very good .... We are just back from a 3 night stay. I had asked in advance if we could have an early checkin to be told, maybe, no, yes, maybe. On the day of arrival I received an email saying we couldn't check in early, but you could access your entry card at your own risk. So given we were told previously we probably could check in we arrived early as we had already booked the train, to be met with three different people telling us fairly abruptly that there was absolutely no check in before 3. No hello, welcome, just a no you can't check in. So we loiterered for an hourish and managed to check in. I was happy to see the place was secure and we were advised there were gates but at no times were any of the gates actually locked, only the front door of our apartment block. From time to time, 2 or 3 times a night, we had an enormous noise in the apartment which was coming from one of the toilets, like a very loud fan noise which at one point woke us at 4.30 one morning and went on for about 15 mins. There were balloons stuck to the wall in the apartment from a previous occupant which hadn't been removed, the fridge was a bit grubby, there were no cushions so the sofa was quite uncomfortable and the apartment was very very dark, even with all the lights on. There were no city guides, no maps, no games, everything you expect from an apartment you rent, and certainly has been in any of the places we have rented over the last 18 months during covid, everything had been removed due to covid, but it was just over the top. The kitchen didn't really have a lot of things, no baking try etc, although there was an oven, toaster and microwave. There were just no added extras, we often book "luxury" apartments, and again have done over covid times, and these things have all been available. On the plus side the location is amazing, 10 mins walk from everything. The rest of the apartment was clean and the one bedroom apartment we had was huge and generally pretty spotless (apart from the fridge). The bed was enormous and super comfy, really soft which we love. And the apartment was warm, once we figured out the fan heating. Its a nice place, would go there again because its a great location, Sainsburys Local just down the road, I was just a bit disappointed by it. Maybe thats to be expected from an apart-hotel, just the welcome wasn't very, well welcoming. Having said that I would recommend. Nice to be away from everyone else during these times.
