Me and some friends decided to visit York for its annual Viking festival. When looking for places to stay, The Little Hide jumped straight out at me. It look so beautiful and incredibly inviting. And it really is! I'm spending my second night here now, and it's just so wonderful

This was bought for a gift & I must admit with the cold we did nearly drive home. However we found after leaving on the heater & using all throws, blankets & extra duvets it was warm enough. My only issue was it sounded like we were on a flight path & also motorway noise. I do

Hi Dawn, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in the Cuckoos Nest, and I would like to offer my apologies and a few explanations to your points if I may? The CN is weatherproof, or else it would not be open all year - however it is made of wood, and wood alters in relation to the weather conditions, yes there is a small gap at the bottom of the door, which is why we provide a draft excluder. Sadly we are unable to do anything about this as before the gap the doors would not open if it was damp. I have been unable to find a hole in the roof, and I would appreciate you contact me on relax@thelittlehide.co.uk to explain the location of this hole. I am sincerely sorry that you found the bed so uncomfortable, the mattress was new in October, its a 10" sprung mattress with a memory foam top, and we trialed them in the pods for 6 months before getting them for the Yurt and the CN. We have received nothing but fantastic comments on them, and I even have the exact same mattress on my own bed! However, I do appreciate that some people prefer soft beds, while others like hard ones, and that is just one of the things I will never be able to get right for everyone. As for the bed being noisy, we will look into this, however I do find wooden beds tend to be squeakier than most other beds. The heater in the CN and the pods are checked regularly and actually warm up the spaces very quickly, I am unsure how I can better this. Unfortunately the electric supply is limited to the site, and each unit has a supply of 15amps. This is the same on the caravan park and probably all caravan parks. Having the kettle and the heater on at the same time, or two heating devices, so the heater and straighteners, will overload the system. I am unable to do anything about this as I do not own the land and am not in control of the electric supply. I appreciate that is is frustrating, I also find it frustrating when I have to come back to work in the middle of the night to put the electric back on, but it is all part of the adventure of Glamping - many Glamping sites do not have electric at all, so the fact that we have a limited supply, I think is wonderful. I am unsure where you got the price of £30 from for the pods - they have not been that price since our first week of opening - On the night you were in the pods were priced at £60 each. The CN is just £10 more per night than the pods, and yes you get hot drinks included in the CN as well as the extra furniture and style. There are actually 11 toilets on site, the two that you mention at the Main Toilet Block, had you have gone around the corner, you would have found 4 wet rooms with toilets, showers and washbasins. There are also another 5 toilets at the Reception block. I hope I have answered some of your complaints, and I sincerely wish that instead of driving home and writing this, you had called me while you were on site - had you have done this I could have moved you to a pod or at least helped to address your problems at the time - days after the fact there is little I am able to do to help you. As always I will look at the unit in question and see if we can make it better in anyway... I do hope that you try Glamping again at another time, and have a better experience, although I appreciate that Glamping is not for everyone.

My fiance booked the yurt for a 3 night break and we had a fantastic time. I was a little worried after reading reviews about how cold it was but I didn't need to worry- the little heater did a good job of heating the yurt up and we went prepared with an extra duvet and some

Have stayed here 6 times now and always enjoyed the pods. They are fantastic! Recently tried out the yurt this time and it was horrendous, absolutely freezing cold and a bad smell. Shouldn’t be hired out in the winter it is far too cold, if I hadn’t of had a drink I would of

Sorry to hear you feel this way - the yurt is available all year round due to demand, and it is detailed as being a tent/canvas unit, so it is up to the visitor to decide if they want to stay during the winter months. It's a shame you didn't call us while staying, and we would have dropped some more blankets down for you. There is a heater in the Yurt, which does warm up the space well, and this can be left on all night as it has a cut-off when it gets too hot, then it will restart after a small break to cool down. Please if you have a problem when staying again, call us so we can help you resolve the problem. Many thanks, Donna

Hi there, If you have a look at our website (it won't let us post the address on here) there are some picture of the cabin on there, and also our facebook page. If you made your booking via BookingDotCm then there should have been photos on there too, log back in to your reservation and you should be able to follow the links through to the cabin's information. I hope that helps, if not email us and we can send you some links! Donna

Hi Does anyone know what fish are in the ponds? & do you need a license to fish? Thanks
Hi, I am afraid the pond next door has closed down and although our ponds are being made ready for fishing, they will not be ready for a while, there are some very good "pay by day" ponds locally though, which we can provide information on if you would like?
