We stopped at the Rose & Crown again at the weekend, third time we have stopped there, and it was superb yet again! Room, staff, breakfast and the pub itself were all great.. Definitely recommend for anyone after a nice hotel in a perfect location in York, parking included, wouldn't stay anywhere else if we are visiting York...... A***

Stayed here for 3 nights recently. Cannot fault it. Ideal location 10 minute walk to the centre. Hotel itself, free parking which was bonus. Staff were brilliant, nice and friendly and very helpful. Room was a nice size, even though it faced the main road, was not that noisy till the morning. Food was excellent, from breakfast to evening meal and reasonably priced. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel, but be warned, only 5 rooms though... Definitely will be making a return visit...

4 night stay . Staff were very friendly & welcoming . Excellent breakfast. We had our evening meal there twice during our stay, couldn’t fault it . The pies are amazing. Good Covid measures in place. Room was of good size & large bathroom. The only minus point being the bed .well overdue for a new mattress we did mention this to a member of staff after our first night , who arranged for the mattress to be turned & put a quilt under the bottom sheet . A slight improvement but not great. Such a shame as this is the only thing we found wrong with the accommodation. Everything else was really good . Would stay again but not in room one ( unless they change the mattress! ) ideal location for access to the city . Lots of parking.

Room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Just outside City Walls and getting onto the walls is literally one minute away. Restaurant is good value for money. On a busy road with a lot of traffic noise.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The breakfast is amazing and literally sets you up for the day! After reading the reviews about the pies I decided to try one. They definitely deserve the rave reviews. We were there for the new lockdown rules and the pub followed the guidelines to the letter which was reassuring. Due to the new guidelines make sure you book tables here and in the city in advance as you could be left disappointed. Wonderful stay. Highly recommend.
