Brilliant night's sleep - I stayed in Rievaulx and found the bed extremely comfy and the room (and surrounding area) dark and quiet. It was bliss. Lovely breakfast - place your order the evening before. Great host - it was nice talking to Kim. DVDs - there are some great films that you can take up to your room. Books - read about York before you head out. Location - the BnB is close to the city centre but away from the hustle and bustle. Last but not least, Tabitha the resident feline. She may grace you with her presence at breakfast.
We spent two great days with Kim and her Mum at their beautiful B&B. Our room was very spacious and appointed to the tee - down to the baskets with treats, breads, candies, and even first aid supplies. There was even a decanter of sherry in our room which we very much enjoyed with the chocolates provided. Breakfast in the beautifully-decorated dining room was fantastic - great choices and all very tasty - we sat by the window as we enjoyed our meal and watched the birds outside at the feeders. The walk to the walled town of York was quick and parking was on street (Kim provided a parking pass). Kim took a real interest in us and helped with planning the route of future travel destinations. And, when I booked our room, she mailed me info on York and made suggestions for things to do during our say. We did get to the Royal Theatre to see G&S's Gondoliers - it was a great show. We loved York and will return - we'll hope to be able to stay at the Arnot House again.…
My husband and I have stayed at Arnot House twice. The hospitality is never lacking. You are spoiled at every turn, from the heated towel racks to the full English breakfast prepared on an AGA. There’s even a cute kitty on staff. We will be returning to Arnot House for years to come.
We have just stayed for four nights with Kim and her mum at this lovely little B&B. Every evening felt like coming home, so many little extras and goodies in the room every day, Kim is a fantastic landlady and we couldn’t have wished for anything else to make our stay more special, comfy beds, warm and cosy and a great breakfast to start each morning of sightseeing and shopping in beautiful York. We will definitely return. Many thanks.
Stayed four delightful nights at Arnot B &B. Kim and her mom could not have been more gracious and kind. We enjoyed our time in York and they were able to extend our stay another night. Wonderful breakfast each morning and lovely room with everything we could possibly need. Kim provided us with great suggestions for our stay as well as recommendstions as we continue our travel. Each day we came back to yummy treats. Easy access to the train station and to town. If you visit York, this is the place to stay.
