The train station is an easy 10 minute walk from the house. You will not need a car to explore as York is kept car free within the historic city walls. This Victorian house is on three floors - furnished with antiques and original artwork. The three guest rooms have ensuite facilities and large beds which sleep a maximum of two persons. Many guests come for a romantic break so - Sorry - we do not take children. Brilliant night's sleep - I stayed in Rievaulx and found the bed extremely comfy and the room (and surrounding area) dark and quiet. It was bliss. Lovely breakfast - place your order the evening before. Great host - it was nice talking to Kim. DVDs - there are some great films that you can take up to your room. Books - read about York before you head out. Location - the BnB is close to the city centre but away from the hustle and bustle. Last but not least, Tabitha the resident feline. She may grace you with her presence at breakfast.

Dear Mark W (and Mrs W), it was lovely to have our first guests after the Covid lockdown, and to be offering hospitality once again at Arnot House. We are so pleased that you enjoyed our house and the attentions of Tabitha ...who I feel has really missed having varied company these last few months. You made the most of your time in our lovely city - now fully open for visitors - as well as enjoying some of our many culinary experiences. Hopefully these few days R&R will recharge the batteries for the next few months....Thanks again for coming to stay.

We spent two great days with Kim and her Mum at their beautiful B&B. Our room was very spacious and appointed to the tee - down to the baskets with treats, breads, candies, and even first aid supplies. There was even a decanter of sherry in our room which we very much enjoyed with the chocolates provided. Breakfast in the beautifully-decorated dining room was fantastic - great choices and all very tasty - we sat by the window as we enjoyed our meal and watched the birds outside at the feeders. The walk to the walled town of York was quick and parking was on street (Kim provided a parking pass). Kim took a real interest in us and helped with planning the route of future travel destinations. And, when I booked our room, she mailed me info on York and made suggestions for things to do during our say. We did get to the Royal Theatre to see G&S's Gondoliers - it was a great show. We loved York and will return - we'll hope to be able to stay at the Arnot House again.

Dear Sldrew Festive greetings from York, and thankyou for giving us such a lovely review...we are so pleased that you enjoyed your time at Arnot House, and in our lovely historic city. There is always so much to see and do...and as we have a number of theatres in York - there is always a big variety of both amateur and professional evening entertainments. York has also just been voted the sixth most 'Foodie' destination in the UK as we have such a variety of top class eateries so there are lots of reasons to make a return visit to York! Thankyou again for staying with us and have a wonderful Xmas and a very merry New Year!! we hope to see you again sometime....

My husband and I have stayed at Arnot House twice. The hospitality is never lacking. You are spoiled at every turn, from the heated towel racks to the full English breakfast prepared on an AGA. There’s even a cute kitty on staff. We will be returning to Arnot House for years to come.

Dear IHeartEngland, I apologise for my late response...but it has been a very busy month in York as the annual xmas markets are such a big attraction for visitors. York is a beautiful city at any time of the year but especially in the time running up to Christmas it becomes particularly lovely with the added lights, entertainments and bustling food and drink stalls all through the centre. it is also wonderful for us to have so many returning guests - who have become like old friends over the years .... we hope you have a fabulous festive week and a very merry 2020! Hope to see you next year but we always say to book early...

We have just stayed for four nights with Kim and her mum at this lovely little B&B. Every evening felt like coming home, so many little extras and goodies in the room every day, Kim is a fantastic landlady and we couldn’t have wished for anything else to make our stay more special, comfy beds, warm and cosy and a great breakfast to start each morning of sightseeing and shopping in beautiful York. We will definitely return. Many thanks.

Dear Iesums, Greetings from York, after what has been another very busy xmas period. It is lovely to hear that you had such an enjoyable break with us - and although we could not control the slightly mixed weather we had over the last few weeks- it did not spoil all the wonderful festivities that York has to offer in the run up to Christmas. It will all start again next year in mid November - possibly bigger and better than ever! Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year....and we hope you see you again at Arnot House!

Stayed four delightful nights at Arnot B &B. Kim and her mom could not have been more gracious and kind. We enjoyed our time in York and they were able to extend our stay another night. Wonderful breakfast each morning and lovely room with everything we could possibly need. Kim provided us with great suggestions for our stay as well as recommendstions as we continue our travel. Each day we came back to yummy treats. Easy access to the train station and to town. If you visit York, this is the place to stay.
