Just spent 3 days there 👍. It’s warm & cosy. Lovely ambience in the communal areas. Very friendly & helpful staff. Great location - just a short walk into the centre but nice & quiet for sleeping. Smashing room (we were on the top floor). Very friendly cat 😀.

The hotel was immaculate. Very clean, well presented and luxuriously decorated through out. Staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. The area is quiet for a good night's sleep. High quality bed linens and towels in our room, as well as complimentary toiletries which were also of high quality. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh good quality produce. The only fault we could find was that our television remote didn't work very well. We were unable to change the volume on the TV which meant we were straining to hear it. Just a small thing (probably the batteries), but it didn't really impact our stay. Special shout out to Teddy the cat who lives at the hotel, he is an excellent host and joined us for a cream tea. We have and will continue to recommend this hotel to our friends and family and will definitely be back next time we visit York. …

We stayed Sunday night on a last minute booking. The hotel was amazing and the staff were lovely. It was all very clean and modern, we had car parking and even got a room upgrade. The room had all the facilities you could need including yummy Cadburys hot chocolate and biscuits. The location is really convenient, we went straight there without needing to negotiate the town centre traffic and it's less than 10 minutes walk to the Minster. Will definitely be returning.

Had a lovely anniversary trip to York and the hotel was faultless. We stayed in a deluxe double room (24) and we were blown away. The room was a good size with a seperate wardrobe and bathroom. The TV wasn't the usual tiny 12inch with rubbish signal it was a smart tv. The only downfall was the shower leaked everywhere, but we told reception and I'm sure this will get sorted. If we ever come to York we will definitely be back. Whilst in York we went to Marzano italian and that was sublime!

Me and my partner stayed on Halloween and were immediately impressed with the effort put into Halloween decorations. The vibe was outstanding and we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. We were genuinely surprised at how big our hotel room was - it felt more like a honeymoon suite than a standard room! The decoration through the hotel was classic and fun, really making you feel like you were on a luxurious holiday. We had drinks at the bar on the evening (Prosecco in the window seat of the lounge is a must!) and throughly enjoyed breakfast the next morning. The vegetarian omelette we definitely recommend. Overall this hotel surpassed all of our expectations. I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely be coming back to stay. Lots of personal touches and staff always willing to go the extra mile. Thanks for a lovely weekend guys!…

This was not value for money. Our first room had damp and we had to request a new one. The hotel charged £15 for parking, which is shocking considering that we paid £200 a room. The breakfast was not good, with the veggie breakfast being honestly vile. I left some items in the room (which I completely accept is my fault), and I held off leaving a bad review because I thought that they were going to return them for me. And they will at a price - they were going to charge me for the postage.

I am shocked and very sad to read your review. I feel you really have been rather unfair. I apologise that you encountered an issue with your room upon arrival, unfortunately there was an unexpected leak. Within minutes of you bringing this to my attention I had arranged you a new room which was a free of charge double upgrade. I am also a vegetarian and hand on heart think our veggie sausages are some of the best I have ever had, I only ever get compliments for our delicious Yorkshire breakfasts as you can see from our previous reviews. Yes our car parking is available on a first come first serve basis at £15 per night as per all our advertisements. It is very common practice for hotels to charge guests for the postage costs of their left behind items. Finally I am sorry you did not feel you could mention any of this in our previous interactions and felt the need to anonymously post online instead.

My husband and I stayed in the cabin suite, which is separate from the main building. The decor is lovely and it has a very cosy vibe to it, the bed was comfortable and we both slept well. Only issue in the room was we couldn't get the large TV to work, we mentioned it to the lady on reception but when we came back from our meal we still couldn't get it to turn on so we both read/watched things on our phone. Breakfast was lovely, the lady serving was friendly, would stay again.

You feel like you’re staying at your rich aunt’s large home when staying at Clementine’s. The room is decorated in a way that (as my decorator friend says) only the English can do; it’s dark and moody, yet rich and solid, with beautiful antique pieces. The sheets crisp and spotless, the bed firm and comfortable. It’s easy to find staff if you need anything, and they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The optional breakfast is worth adding and the dining area is so nicely done. There’s a sweet cat, Teddy, who now lives there full-time, and he is the perfect touch to create a homey atmosphere.
