I stayed here for one night with my nephew as we were in York to see Sean Lock at the Barbican. We arrived in York mid morning and headed straight to the Gillygate in the hope we could leave our heavy bags. We were greeted with a smile by a man behind the bar who not only agreed for us...

Me and my husband a stayed at this pub for 1 night on a weekend break. It's was really well located, breakfast was amazing and there was free parking. Our room was large, clean and modern. It is located 2 minutes walk from the minister and the staff were great. Would definitely recomend.

We arrived mid morning to very friendly staff who said we could check in later and in the meantime they would store our things in a safe room. We ordered a round of drinks and was pleasantly surprised how little they came to. After spending the day in York (literally a few minutes walk into the centre) we arrived back...

Loved the location just down from Bootham Bar, we had 2 rooms with family. My room was just fantastic- updated bath, wonderful comfortable bed and cute bay window to the street. The double glass meant no street noise, however our toilet made loud noises that made us just fall over laughing! Full English breakfast and very helpful staff. totally recommend!

This is a revived pub that is well worth the visit..I've so far only been a drinker here but the food looks fantastic. If it's half as good as the beer it's well worth a try!! They also have rooms to stay in which look fantastic on the website and a great beer garden outside. Hop skip and a jump...
