Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This Travelodge is an ideal location for our needs and have stayed here several times. Over the years, the cleanliness has improved and the staff have always been excellent, friendly and welcoming. However, the hotel has a real problem with damp, with its pervasive smell recognisable as soon as you go through the doors to the downstairs bedrooms and in the bedrooms itself. The damp in the walls have resulted in the wallpaper bubbling. In the bedrooms, due to the problem with damp, the carpet (which had a lump in it) felt damp along with the bedding (we stayed 2 nights and it was noticeable on the second night). Due to what I presume is cost cutting, hand towels have been cut down to one per room and bath mats are no longer provided. In our room, when you stepped out the bath (with the rather long step down (thankful for the handrail)) water puddled on the floor where a person stepped. However, when the towels were refreshed the second day, it would have been good to mop the bathroom floor to remove the puddle.
Although the cleanliness is a lot better, there is still room for improvement. There is black mould above the shower which only takes a wipe over with a cloth to remove it.
However, the room and bathrooms are tired and are in dire need attention but the damp needs attention as a matter of urgency.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for an upstairs room as these may not be as damp.

A basic hotel in need of refurbishment. The carpets in the hallways and the rooms are tired and there was evidence of rust on the outside panel of our bath. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a kettle and tea/coffee but there is never enough milk provided. No housekeeping services unless you requested it by leaving a card hanging on the door. This only consisted of replenishing the tea/coffee, clean towels, loo rolls and emptying the bins. The room itself had a large wardrobe but only 5 hangers! The addition of shelves in the wardrobe or a set of drawers would benefit the room as there was nowhere to put tops, underwear etc.. This would probably not be a problem for guests who are staying for a night or two but was a problem for us as we were staying for a week. It is also a pity that the adjoining pub has nothing to do with the Hotel as the only breakfast offered was 'on the go'

I have been staying at the Round Spinney Travelodge for the past two weeks and still have a further two weeks stay booked here. I usually come here every year for a four week stay because I spend most of my time on a holiday park which is local but unfortunately it only has a 11 month license. Last year I decided to stay at a different chain of hotels and I absolutely hated it and so back to Round Spinney I came and I have not been disappointed. All the staff from cleaners to the manageress Iwona are excellent and very accommodating, The lodge is clean and well looked after. I really don’t have much to say about the place other than well done Iwona and your staff on keeping the place in check. I really do feel at home here. Thank you

Excellent as usual. I always ask for the same room and they go out of their way to be friendly, accommodating and keep the whole building very clean which is difficult for them because they are trying to keep clean an old building that has had no financial input in years. Proves how hard the staff work that the place is superbly kept.

Budget Hotel in need of a little refurbishment quiet location next to a steak restaurant. Reception average had to knock desk to gain attention given room on 1st floor which after initial inspection was Shocked to find what looked like drug dealers kit in the only two draws available.
Clearly the so called deep clean to avoid covid transmission didn’t include checking draws. Which begs the question of how much cleaning actually goes on
Given an alternative room on ground floor by apologetic receptionist. Room appeared clean and was quiet.
I suppose it performed as expected for a budget hotel.

The room although a bit tired was warm, tea and coffee facilities. Television ideal. Shower nice, plenty of hot water. Comfortable bed. Pleasant staff. Plenty of parking available, and being sited next door to a restaurant is a perfect location.
