Five stars means exceptional, and only a very few deserve to be in the august group. The Beaumont is truly superb. The location could not be better, across the street from a lo ely park (which you view from their pub and elegant dining room). Hexham Abbey and the market square are at the end of the block. On street...

Went with daughter for my birthday meal out. Major renovations being done, it will be top notch when finished-uncovered parquet floor and new window overlooking abbey are worth noting. Love the new bar area, good selection of beers, wines, spirits. £14.00 for three course lunch is really terrific value, the food itself was very very good. Asparagus, poached egg was...

Right in the middle of Hexham but on a very nice street overlooking a park it feels very Georgian. Parking is in a secure underground area to the rear with a barrier etc. The hotel has a large lobby area that also serves as the bar and the restaurant and it's a sort of modern meets traditional style with real...

We stayed for three nights over Easter. The staff were courteous and attentive. They managed residents, dinner parties and a wedding all at the same time with calm aplomb. The food was outstanding (and seriously underpriced). The rooms comfortable and fresh. The location excellent. Hard to fault and we are looking forward to coming back when the refurbishment is finished.

Arrived by train , a fair walk but easily found, a lovely grand building, overlooking a park, very central to town centre. Very warm reception, shown to our room, a large well appointed room with good sized shower room. Stayed on a b and b basis, we ate out for dinner but as we passed through reception the dining room...

Dated, but undergoing refurb while I was there so hard to give an objective review of what it will be like afterwards. Room was very big, and comfortable. Bar/restaurant area was pretty dated but staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Certainly not a destination in itself but I'd be happy to stay there again it I was...

Not much to fault given some refurbishment is ongoing. Restaurant dinner absolutely first rate and unbelievable value at £15 for three courses. Car parking limited and very tight! Not overall a first rate choice with a perfect location for the town and abbey.

Stayed here for a short break in April. Hotel had the builders in for decoration but in no way spoilt our stay - the staff show excellent customer service to look after us when we arrived amongst the plasterers, painters and other trades that were on site. Our room (15) was very clean, spacious and modern. Only criticism would be...

When me and my colleague arrived we walked in to a bit of a dusty building site. Our initial thoughts were "Oh God !" The owner (new?) showed us to our rooms - he seemed a little bit flustered and given what was happening (building work) we understood. When we went down to the lounge bar we thought due to...
