Having stumbled across the Old Hall beer festival in September, we were curious to find out more so persuaded a group of friends to come with us for a weekend. What a well run operation - charming and helpful staff, excellent food, comfortable accommodation, and a better breakfast than you'd get in a 5* hotel. The balance between restaurant standard... We spent three nights there as base for walking. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food was excellent with extensive wine and beer list. All the staff very friendly. Also visited Bakewell for a taste of the traditional pudding and recommend a visit to Castleton as well

Brought my partner here as a surprise for her birthday. Had a room with a balcony overlooking the gardens which was really nice. Food great and very reasonable - pub style but high quality. You must pre-order the steak pudding - awesome. Good wine selection too. Lots of real ale drink choices - not my cup of tea but have... More

Myself and my husband enjoyed a night stay at the old hall inn in November. The room had everything we needed and was nice and warm.We had dinner at the restaurant that night and the staff couldn't be nicer. They even managed to surprise him with a birthday desert without us telling them it was his birthday. The inn is in... More

The Old Hall Inn is full of old world charm and is true to its heritage but with a modern twist of contemporary service and comforts in the rooms. The rooms are individually furnished and very much in character with the building, but provide comfortable beds, tv, wifi and tea and fresh coffee making facilities. The bathroom was basic and... We had a wonderful stay at the Old Hall. We arrived late on Friday night after a slow drive from London and they were very happy to accommodate our very late check in. The rooms are newly renovated and beautifully decorated and the breakfast was delicious - the Derbyshire Oatcakes are a must!

A three night stay last week was the best ever, which made our visit to the Peak District very special. We arrived at lunch time on Sunday and the Old Hall was buzzing. Our room (no 9) was spotless, stylish and very comfortable. The attention to detail here is amazing. We had wonderful meals both at lunchtime and in the... More

16 of us had lunch here, after a really enjoyable walk down to Whalley Bridge and back, via Bugsworth Basin. First time here for my wife and myself, though many of the group had been here a number of times. This is a really well kept quaint pub in a rather isolated Derbyshire village, yet with such a good reputation... More

Stayed for one night as a special treat for our wedding anniversary. We took the room with the four poster bed -room 10 - and it was heavenly. Food was amazing and the steak and ale pudding did not disappoint. Fab breakfast and lovely Sue gave some good tips for places to visit. Would have loved to stay longer to... More

There can be few places more quintessentially English than a country inn and in this area none more so than the Old Hall Inn. Steeped in history, this family run, 16th-century inn located in the heart of the Peak District also offers excellent en-suite accommodation in beautiful country surroundings.
