We really enjoyed staying here for a long weekend (3 nights). The hotel is in an incredibly good location for going to the caves and the castle, and there are great bars, cafés and restaurants very close by (with delicious vegan offerings). Our room was very clean and comfortable, and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely book to stay here again next time we're visiting Nottingham!

Loved this quirky hotel. Made a change from the everyday corporate hotel where all the rooms, facilities etc are always identical. The bedroom was compact but excellent, with all the little extra's you come to expect in a hotel room, including biscuits with the tea/coffee facilities. Loved the individual decor, including the slopping floor and a lovely comfortable bed. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was hot, fresh and delicious, with a good selection of items both hot and cold. The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the centre of the city with everything close to hand. Will definitely be staying there again.

Dear Julie, Thank you so much for your review. I am so pleased to hear you had such an enjoyable stay and felt that we were different to your average corporate hotel, in the best possible way. I am delighted the room amenities were to your liking. We do have a range of larger room grades which you may wish to consider should we have the pleasure of being able to welcome you back in the future. I highly recommend our Privilege room and Suites which would certainly provide the additional space you may require or desire. Your feedback about the team is wonderful to hear and I very much look forward to sharing your kind words with the team. We are so grateful for you having chosen to stay with us on this occasion Julie. We sincerely hope we have the pleasure of being able to welcome you back very soon. Until next time. . . Great reception from staff at all times when visiting the hotel. Met with friendly Vinay and Bruno Great service provided by the young gentleman at breakfast. Darren we think. Friendly Peter on reception on our departure. Hotel, despite renovations was very nice, even the workmen were friendly and offered us good morning. Room good and extremely reasonably priced. We will definitely return to this central hotel in the future. Ken. (07/04/2024)

The location was good but the room was terrible. The walls had damp, the curtains had moths and the air con could not be used as it smelt of damp. The bars nearby were so loud we struggled to sleep. Lift out of order due to people the week before drunkenly breaking it.

Loved this hotel, location is fabulous, right in the middle of Nottingham centre and near to shops, bars etc. I’ve stayed here twice and would highly recommend. Bed comfortable, hotel nice and clean, staff friendly and helpful, left our luggage there in holding on final day, they booked us a taxi to station. Only downside is the lift is out of order

Positives: - room was huge. - excellent location. - I like that there's an ironing board in the room. - comfy bed. - felt clean. Negatives: -hotel is dated with poorly finished areas. Damp/water damaged walls in my room. For the price I paid, I would expect much nicer surroundings. - scaffolding outside my window on floor 3 felt unsafe. Anyone could climb up it. If I'd have been aware of both these issues, and the renovations, I'd have stayed elsewhere. -lift not working, which is a pain for someone with mobility issues. Was told 3rd floor was the lowest available. - noisy guests - expected noise given the location, but guests using the hotel were very inconsiderate. This was a guest issue rather than hotel issue. Overall, it's not a cheap hotel and I imagine once upon a time deserving of the price tag. But right now, its just not value for money.

Dear Terri, Thank you for your review. May I firstly apologise for any disappointed felt during your experience with us. We are currently in the early stages of a refurbishment, beginning with the façade of the property. We will then later this year be starting on the internal areas. I further apologise for the issue experienced with our lift. Due to guest misuse the lift has experienced a technical fault which was unforseen. We are doing all we can to have this fixed as quickly as possible. I apologise for any inconvenience caused to you and for the inconsideration you mention other guests caused during your stay. I am pleased you were happy with our location and were comfortable during your time with us. It is wonderful to hear your compliments about our housekeeping standards, which I will share with the team. We do appreciate you having chosen to stay with us on this occasion and sincerely hope we can welcome you back in the future. Kindest regards Chris Butler General Manager

I travel to Nottingham for business twice a year and always stay at this hotel. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the old district with lots of restaurants, shopping, and little music venues. It's right on the tram line (one stop from the train/bus station) making it convenient with a suitcase. The place has charm and the staff has always been courteous and efficient. The only drawback is that the street noise can be a bit loud on the weekends, so if you're a light sleeper pack some earplugs. It's never been enough of an issue to bother me.

Disappointed to find out when I arrived that the lift was out of order - I’d been travelling all day and had a big bag. Frustrating but they thankfully put me on the second floor so could have been a lot worse but was still a struggle. The room was tiny. It had everything I needed but I had to lean across the bed to get the bathroom door open. Not keen on there being an Alexa in the room as no idea of its privacy setting may which put me off making the few work calls I needed. When I turned the tv on it came straight up with the adult channels - and guess it was from the previous guest but not the welcome I wanted! Scaffolding all outside the hotel - I know works have to be completed but I wasn’t comfortable with the scaffolding boards literally right outside my window. I woke at 3am to noises out there and didn’t get back to sleep so after several episodes of True Crime and Life in the Sun, I got up early and started my day! Breakfast was nice - staff in the dining area were really lovely. Easy to check in and out. Appreciate it’s a very old building so the wonky floors and creaks in the night had character!

Dear Kelly, Thank you for your review. I am delighted to hear you had an enjoyable stay with us. I do however apologise should our scaffolding for works being completed have caused you any dissatisfaction. Our Alexa devises in the rooms are completely private but should you have any concerns you can remove the plug from the wall, thus removing all power from the Alexa devise should you seek any peace of mind. I am very sorry to hear of the issue with TV and will certainly speak to our team with regards to checking which channel remains in place prior to our guests checking in. I thank you for your kind words about our breakfast and team in there. This is wonderful to hear and I will share this feedback with them. We truly appreciate you having chosen to stay with us on this occasion. Kindest regards Chris Butler General Manager

Very central hotel in a great area with lovely details to the rooms. I loved the decor and the photos as you go up the stairs which I would not have seen if the lift was working. The hotel is a bit tatty and the stairs and carpet uneven so be careful. The banisters did feel a bit unclean but ok if you don’t need to use them. We had a drink in the very lively bar. The bar had lots of atmosphere and was loud but really enjoyed it. The complimentary water was a nice touch as was the ear plugs but we did not need them. Overall a nice stay.
