We stayed here as we were going to a concert, the location was amazing literally 5 mins walk away from everything you’d need. I read some reviews on here people moaning about the floor boards and the smell of food etc...I can’t see why the floor boards not being perfectly

Loved this hotel, very unique and quirky, the interior design of the room was amazing especially the bathroom door disguised as a chest of drawers. The spiral creaky staircase bodes a thousand secrets, the historical feel just adds to it's charm. look out for the door in

Dear parksey32, Thank you so much for your review about your recent stay with us. It is wondeful to hear that you had such an enjoyable stay with us. The decor throughout the hotel is indeed quirky in places and I am delighted this was to your liking. Our hotel was built in 1822 so there is certainly a lot of history and I am so pleased you noticed and appreciated the charm of a hotel of this age. Thank you for your kind comments about breakfast which I will certainly share with the team. Thank you also for choosing to stay with us on this occasion. The team and I sincerely hope we will have the pleasure of being able to welcome you and your mom back again soon. Kindest regards Chris Butler Hotel Manager

Booked here as we’re Accor members and regularly stay at the Sofitel, we thought as this was close to the motorpoint arena and fairly close to the station, we couldn’t go wrong. On arrival the room wasn’t ready so had to wait till 3 but was there some ready?, the first room we

Dear ClaireJupp, Thank you so much for your review. I am very sorry to hear of your disappointment with the early check in and late check out which was not possible during your stay. As with all benefits they are subject to availability. We never decline either if avoidable so I am sorry should us having to do so on this occasion disappointing you. I am aware our reception team kindly offered to look after luggage for you prior to check in and after your check out. I do apologize should you have smelt any food related smells from businesses close to the hotel. I do apologize for this and any inconvenience caused to you. Mercure Nottingham is housed within a building which was built in 1822. The older character of the building does show in some areas such as the sloped floors in some areas of the hotel. I am delighted to hear you have enjoyed your previous stay at the 5* Sofitel housed within a building built in 1990. I am also very sorry to hear you found our own hotel ( a 4* hotel and housed in a building built in 1822 ) to not be comparable. Indeed, we are very different hotels of different star rating and in completely different types of location. Gatwick Sofitel is an airport hotel with ourselves being a city center hotel. We are unfortunately not a a suitable comparison. I do thank you for your loyalty to the Accor brand and having chosen to stay with us on this occasion. It is our sincere hope that we will have the pleasure to be able to welcome you back in the future. I thank you for the time taken to leave this review where your comments have been well received. Kindest regards Chris Butler Hotel Manager

I have never before felt compelled to leave a review on TripAdvisor for any hotel stay before, whether good or bad. However, this is an exception. I booked to stay in Nottingham over night after a meeting in the city overran. Mercure caught my eye and I booked myself in. From

Dear HotelTravellerUK, May I firstly thank you for taking the time to leave your review upon this forum. It was in the hope of being able to provide individuals with the experience you had with us that many of our team members here at Mercure Nottingham and I entered the hospitality industry. Your very kind words and praise about the team here means more than you will realise. We do indeed have an excellent group of individuals working here, all with their own vibrant characteristics. I believe it is this wonderful mix of characters that in turn creates an enjoyable experience. Where I am certainly not complacent and appreciate on occasions we may not get it correct every time, I can indeed confirm I am very proud of each member of my team here at Mercure Nottingham. Thank you so much for choosing Mercure Nottingham on this recent stay in the city and also for putting your faith in Accor hotels in the future. It is our sincere hope we will have the pleasure to be able to welcome you back in the future. Kindest regards Chris Butler Hotel Manager

I shall keep this short, My partner and I stayed here for a night whilst meeting up with some friends for a few drinks, I booked a king room and thought that it would be a nice treat for the two of us, being a Mercure you expect certain standards. The location is perfect,

Dear 572kaanc, Thank you so much for your review. I am sorry to hear that you found the Standard King room to be smaller than expected. Our Standard King rooms are one of our smaller room categories but are not the smallest room grade we offer. I do apologize should your expectations of the room size have possibly been unrealistic for the room type booked. We have a range of rooms grades here at Mercure Nottingham with our Privilege rooms and Suites being the largest rooms. I highly recommend either for any guest that requires a larger sized room. Many of our rooms comes with 'zip and link' beds which enables us to either split the beds into two singles or zip together to create a double bed. Many hotels operate this way so we can assist with many different reservation inquiries. On any website there will always be two types of rate available. Room only and bed and breakfast. It is of course the decision of the booker at the time of making the reservation as to which they choose to book. I am sorry should you have mistakenly booked the room only rate and assumed you had in fact booked breakfast. Our charge for breakfast is £9.95 per person. I have taken the liberty to check your room bill and can see £9.95 x 2 was charged, not £20.00 per person as stated in your review. £9.95 is extremely good value especially considering you are able to keep helping yourself to both the hot food buffet and continental buffet as many times as you would like. I am sorry to hear you would not consider to stay with us again. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back and would be delighted to personally assist with your reservation making process. This way I can discuss our room grades with you to ensure you book a room more to your liking and to also help you book the correct rate with breakfast. Thank you once again for your feedback. Kindest regards Chris Butler Hotel Manager

Dear KerryZupp, Thank you for your message. Thank you for taking the time to further reply. Any guest that is not satisfied with any resolution after their stay can choose to leave a TripAdvisor review or alternatively I welcome being personally contacted. I can be contacted by phone or email and welcome any feedback whether good or bad. I appreciate many guests rather choose the method of TripAdvisor rather than contacting the manager of a hotel to personally discuss their stay and experience. I appreciate and respect you have chosen the option of leaving a review. Of course if I am not on duty and therefore not contactable I can either get in touch upon my return or my Operations Manager would certainly have done so. I very much hope we will have the pleasure of being able to welcome you back in the future where I hope we can deliver a much better experience to you. Kindest regards Chris Butler General Manager

Dear JCT1962, Thank you for your message. I can confirm Mercure Nottingham is located close to both the Motorpoint Arena and Nottingham Train Station. Nottingham Train station is located 10 minutes walk from the hotel or is 1 tram stop away. The tram stop to exit the tram at is Lace Market. We are then 1 minute away by foot. Motorpoint Arena is located aprox 5 minutes away by foot. It is located at the foot of our road. Kindest regards Chris Butler General Manager
