This was our second visit. We have stayed 8 nights both times. We love being able to visit family and have the convenience of the city center during the day and then a short drive later the pure silence and relaxing "home away from home" feel of the cottage. This time we brought my mom over from the states for the holiday and she enjoyed her stay as well. The beds are comfy and the accommodations clean. We enjoy being able to ease into our days by cooking ourselves fry-ups (saves some money by eating some meals in as well) One of my favorite memories of this trip is the still, moonlit, and quiet nights whose silence was broken only by the distant and sporadic mooing of a cow, baaing of some sheep or a faint (must have been on the over yonder hill) hee-haw of a donkey. So peaceful and i haven't been in this quiet of a place since hiking in the high sierra mountain range of California....the proprietors are on site for any needs that may arise but remain unobtrusive. Thanks Phil

All of the cottages were booked for the weekend and to attend a wedding. On arrival our cottage (The Tack Room) looked like it had not been "checked for cleanliness" for quite some time as there were substantially sized cobwebs throughout the cottage. On the morning of the wedding I decided to iron the father of the brides shirt and found the ironing board was stained and the iron had burnt on brown stuff on the hot plate! Not good for ironing a white shirt; so I improvised with pillow cases. As the cottages were self catering we were provided with crockery and utensils etc and it was our responsibility to ensure these were cleaned after use. It would of been nice if these had been checked to see if the previous occupants had washed and dried them to an acceptable standard, especially the wine glasses on the book case. The bathroom was compact but OK. Nice hot shower. The cost for the rental of the cottages was not cheap and while we were staying there we assumed that they were ours exclusively to use, however the owners 2 dogs were constantly wandering in and out of them which I was not happy about. The wedding was absolutely wonderful, the weather was fantastic, all the guests had an amazing time and the lake and surrounding views were very picturesque. The accommodation did not spoil this special occasion but it could of been cleaner.

This is our second time staying at the wonderful Glebe Farm cottages. This is an ideal place for families. Phil and Cathy are warm, generous hosts and made us feel so welcome. The Tackroom is one of my most favorate places and we love it there. Imagine waking up with a gorgeous view of fields and trees. This is the ideal place to get away from work. Internet connection is intermittant - by hey - this is the country so enjoy it. Take a walk along the river, visit Ferry Farm, the owners are so nice, Johanna and Graham, the local pubs are great. Thank you so much Cathy for organising the the wonderful Easter Egg hunt for my son and my nephew. That was so thoughtful. I love this place and we will be back again.

We stayed at Glebe Farm Cottages over a three week period while we worked in the area. The location was lovely and quiet, surrounded by a multitude of fields. We could stroll down to the river which opened out into a nice river-side walk. We found the cottage in a clean and tidy condition. Wifi signal was almost nonexistent - unless we stood outside to connect. We ended up connecting a router to the ethernet cable in our cottage to boost the signal which resolved the problem. The underfloor heating was temperamental. It took days to either heat up or cool down, so it was difficult to be completely comfortable when sleeping. The beds were fine except for the waterproof mattress protectors and what seemed like water-proof duvets which were quite heavy, making it hot and sweaty to sleep in as it felt like you were wrapped up in plastic. Good shower but the hot water tended to run out at popular showering times throughout the day - obviously a shared hot water system. The living space was comfortable - good size TV with usual channels and a DVD player. Kitchen had everything it needed. The water they use is bore water, so if you're like me, bring a Brita filter with you. Don't break anything - you will be asked to pay for it! So be careful as some of the glasses etc aren't the best quality. The fridge needed to be bigger too. Bring a TOWEL!! They only supply hand/tea towels and bath mat. Clean linen was provided for us each week. Washing machines/dryers are located in another building. You'll have to pay to use these. Hospitality was not great. The owner did not come to introduce themselves and over three weeks we only had a conversation if there was an issue. Not particularly helpful or friendly. Overall a decent place to stay but I'd look elsewhere next time.
