I was after a single room in a nice hotel and this is what i got. The room although small (Northgate) was well decorated with a lovely bathroom. The staff were so so helpful at all times, even recommending a lovely cafe (Toast) over the road for breakfast which wasn't included in the hotel.
It’s not a restaurant. Not even close. A fancy looking building is all it is. The staff and service inside it is are of a poorer quality than MacDonalds. Don’t even bother spending any money here - especially on the food. I would rather have a Mac Donald’s over the stuff they served us in here. Search disappointment on trip advisor - this place should top that list. How it has any stars is beyond me. I would give it zero if I could.
We booked a King size bed and were shown to a room which had a Queen (at the most). Reception were in totally unable to help initially but then did show us a room with an actual King bed. So we transferred there. However it smelt of onions and after a hunt around my husband found 2 full bags of guest rubbish (in M&S bags...) behind the door which he then took outside. The bathroom is tired with mould and a really cheap plastic loo seat. This hotel is twice the price of the last hotel we stayed in in Nottingham (oh. And on that - when we checked in I noted the price on the sheet was £158 and yet we were charged £180...) and half as clean. I would expect it to have decent coffee in the room. Nope. Nescafé sachet with uht milk. The staff were lovely and those 2 stars are for them. But the hotel is tired and feels grungy and for that price needs to seriously up its game. …
Our room was in an annexed across the road. It was grubby, sugar in the drink tray, only ordinary tea. There was mould in the small bathroom. The garden that the ground floor room looked out on was cluttered with garden bits and rubbish and unloved - grass needed cutting and borders needed weeding. Bed linen had holes in it. We commented to reception who just said sorry. Double room only was £152.
My family and I stumbled across this bar and restaurant on Sunday lunchtime whilst in Nottingham for a spot of lunch. The décor in the bar and restaurant was beautiful. For lunch we had the pork belly roast, a burger and a pizza. The food was beautifully presented and was very tasty. It was also reasonably priced. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Will definitely return.
