Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had the best afternoon tea ever here to celebrate a friends big birthday. The member of staff waiting on was brilliant there to keep topping up our teas and coffees but not rushing us and we spent a lovely few hours relaxing and enjoying the excellent soup, lovely choice of mouthwatering sandwiches, scones and cakes which were so light they melted in your mouth. Will definitely come again and recommend.

A one night stay we were in the deluxe admiral Nelson suite lovely big room huge bed super comfy large en-suite with bath and shower twin sinks bright white decor and brown tiling Room was rather bland not much imagination gone into the decorating which is a shame as it could be exquisite Caution low door as I banged my head once !! Beautiful building externally with fountains gardens and lake , communal areas super lots of original features well maintained and clean lovely bar area which is where breakfast is served which was the only disappointment of a hotel of only 16 rooms it really should be cooked to order when your paying £200 for B&B I feel this is a must Buffet style just doesn’t cut it plus was just sloppy scrambled eggs on offer , there was the usual bacon sausage beans mushroom hash browns as well Poor cold selection fruit open so anyone could of touched it so that was a no no Toast your own bread which again could be done by the staff it’s not much to do usual yogurts and few small croissants Special mention to the reception ladies who were both helpful and friendly Be aware there is not a lift so if your on the top floor you may find it a chore climbing all the stairs .

Thank you for your feedback, this is taken on board. We will pass on your comments regarding the breakfast to the Kitchen as this is important to us. We do usually offer a cooked to order breakfast. However, on mornings after a event party we do the buffet option for everyone eating together. Apologies for the inconvenience. We hope to welcome you again and to show you our usual level of Breakfast.

We hired the Decolwyck Hall and John Carr Suite for my mother's 90th birthday celebrations. This was a family get together for 18 of us. Geetha Muthalagappan organised everything superbly in the run up to the event , liaising regularly with me re the arrangements. On the day itself, the room had been set up beautifully and the luncheon table looked very impressive. The private bar area was perfect for pre lunch drinks with sufficient room for the 3 children to play and the luncheon itself was excellent--courses well spaced out to allow plenty of time for chatter and catching up. Akil and Sarath looked after us splendidly and with unlimited time available in our private surroundings the celebrations were able to go on well into the evening. All in all, a super day so very well done to all the staff at Colwick Hall who made it so memorable for my mother.

I used the wedding venue around the back of the hotel as well as using 2 different rooms within the hotel and everything was amazing! Geetha the wedding planner was awesome, she was so helpful and professional, she made sure we had everything set to make our wedding special, never had an issue with the organising and planning the day with her, brilliant communication with her and the staff. On the day the staff was very welcoming, really polite and kind to not just me and my wife but to all the guests also. Would definitely recommend using Colwick hall to stay over the night or for your special day.

I was fortunate to be gifted a voucher for afternoon tea. Unfortunately, I had used the voucher towards the end of its life and it took a bit of sorting on behalf of Colwick Hall and the gift company to use. Having said that, the afternoon tea was superb. The little flans, scones and cakes were to die for and we were served with large pots of fresh tea and filtered coffee to wash our delightful haul down. The setting was beautiful and our server was attentive without being intrusive. We were left to chat and enjoy our experience and our time together. It really was lovely. Since retiring, I had been on a few afternoon teas but Colwick Hall tops the lot. The communication between us was spot on and I knew I was dealing with professional and very caring human beings. Very well done. I hope your employer knows what jewels you are.

We booked a private room at Colwick Hall Hotel for a celebration of our Golden wedding with 20 friends and family. The event really could not have gone better and all the staff worked so hard to make it perfect. Lovely room with access to lovely garden which was perfect for drinks before and after dinner (and for children to run around) as we were fortunate to get perfect weather. All bedrooms very comfortable.
