My wife has been going to this hotel since she was a teenager and we get back there as often as we can because it is probably our favourite UK hotel, It dates from the 16th century and has a timeless quality that strikes yo immediately you enter its front door when the wood smoke greets the nostrils. It has...

We had lunch on a Monday and there were only two others in the dining room, which should have been a sign. The waiting staff, whilst polite and clearly trying to help, were conspicuous by their absence when we needed to ask for more butter, water and milk which were all in short supply. We ate from the Festive Menu...

Myself & new wife got married at the Bay tree on November 12th & what an amazing venue!! The bay tree is not your average wedding venue. From the moment we first went to view it we were so impressed with the hotel. We were made to feel at home, welcomed & so special. Maureen, Mark & the whole team...

The hotel was well run in general but the bar staff in the upstairs bar were very slow and one seemed to be under training and couldn't operate the till without assistance. The passageways were uneven and would be difficult for unstable people to negotiate. The food and the service for the wedding breakfast was excellent. Everywhere was very clean .Our...

We have stayed here so many times before and loved it but our 'Sublime Sunday' was anything but ... Lunch was poor - yellowed broccoli, changes of menu. Evening food menu vastly depleted due to 'busy Saturday' , food ordered incomplete. When leaving bill incorrect - overcharged for drinks and charges for items included in our deal. Left comments (very...

The service from all staff (bar, restaurant, front of house etc.) was very good and I have to agree all requests were acknowledged and dealt with quiet promptly by pleasant smiling staff. The excellent aspect was not reached as we asked for fresh milk and did not get it however we got everything else we asked for. There were a...

We recently had our wedding at the Bay Tree and I would highly recommend this as a venue to anybody without hesitation. You can really tell that the Bay Tree both enjoy and have very good experience in hosting weddings, as every scenario has either been thought of or they have come across previously. On the day, the staff prepared...

Just arrived home from a lovely three night break at The Bay Tree Inn. We stayed in Beech Room - great four poster bed (very high to get onto!!) very clean and comfortable with a charming bathroom. Turn down service in the evening was lovely with towels refreshed and biscuits restocked! Only downside is staff at breakfast on the first...

Our second visit to this hotel. Booked dinner bed and breakfast and didn't let us down. A bit pricy buy it was a great. Very old building which is well kept. Great bar area with roaring fire. Two minutes walk from the height street with lots of history on the doorstep.
