I only stayed over for one night. However as a solo traveller i was made to feel very comfortable and welcome. I had minor problem with my room regarding no heating ,and this was quickly rectified. My meal in the evening was GREAT, homemade tomatoe soup followed by breaded cod and chips. The breakfast in the morning was just as great.... More

Food very tasty, bar cosy and staff very pleasant. Unfortunately when we stayed there they had trouble with the hot water boiler but our room had a plug in electric heater which helped. According to the first person we saw when we arrived the inn has been sold, not really what you want to hear not long after you've checked... More

I stopped here for lunch on my way to the Cheltenham Park Hotel earlier this year. I had a ham sandwich and my daughter had chicken. Around £7 for a sandwich seemed a bit steep but oh boy what a sandwich! Amazing gammon on doorstep white bread with fries and side salad was amazing. My daughters chicken was equally amazing.... Always wanted to stay here in 1980s and now we have. Top notch food, high quality chef with excellent attention to detail and so much better than many so called 'high class' city restaurants. Fish soup and Oysters superb, fluffy goat yoghurt pancakes with yoghurt and fruits scrumpy. Everything fresh and good local produce. Ambiance so lovely. Yes on a... More

We chose this inn for its location and unique history. Our family room was comfortable and had character but given the building dates from the 1500's has some issues. Shower was not really up to an acceptable standard, would recommend having a bath! Highlight was the excellent food in the restaurant and choices for breakfast. The quality of the food... More

I really enjoyed my stay here. I visit numerous hotels and inns across the year and this place was one of the best. The team were really helpful, food delicious and beds comfy! I had the chicken with bubble and squeak followed by blueberry creme brulee, delicious! The full English with spiced bread pudding was different, but again really good.... More

Lovely dog friendly hotel. We were made very welcome with our dogs by all the staff. Great food, nice bedroom, lovely grounds with footpaths through woodland and cornfields to the next village. Ideal for walking and exploring the Cotswolds.

A (fairly) regular visitor....we live nearby! It's on the A40 West of Burford. A main road and easy to drive past. Don't! Consistently good food. Dog friendly (in the bar area). Excellent fish menus! Their pride and our joy! Bar tender (owner?) is ex-rugby player...so has expected sense of humour! Well worth stopping for food (& drink!) No idea what... More

This pub is along the main A40 near Burford. Husband and I stopped here for breakfast on our way to The Big Feastival last weekend. We saw the sign for 'take away' and 'open for breakfast' so thought we would chance it. So glad we did! There was a choice, which we decided on for us a full English. The... More

booked because the inn is pet friendly and ideal position for touring the Cotswolds. owners and staff very obliging but for the room we had was separate from the main building and for the overall cleanliness and decor the room was overpriced, damp plaster and dirty carpets needed a complete makeover. good breakfast but the restaurant meals seemed pricey when...
